Hi wazza and all Thanks for sharing your experiences with AC. Can you share how you make the decision to use steel or wood frame ? We have the steel included as standard but thinking if wood is better for mounting TVs etc later on with out being charged handsomely by them ? Steel was not standard w...
Steel was not standard when we built so not a decision we needed to make. I doubt a wooden frame would be extra, but th...

Update: Landscaping now more or less completed, which we did ourselves. Only annoying part was that the site was not properly cleaned. The seem to take away all the larger items, but them the small bits of rubbish and sand just get missed together and spread out. Ours was that bad that when we hande...

Hi Allcastle will make adjustments to configuration, we only made minor changes and they did not cost too much. I think the biggest issue you will have is the relocation of the Bathroom, they mentioned that changes that require changes to the structure or plumbing do cost more. Good... -Designs of h...

Have they given you a date? You are 5 weeks behind where we was at this stage, and there has not been 5 weeks worth of rain. At most with those extra drying out days, they could claim 2 weeks... You are right, the ground is dry, I can vouch for that as I was struggling to dig it yesterday as it was ...

I assume everything is ready for the pouring of the slab? Pouring the slab is almost a full day's work, so if they are not there first thing in the morning, it will not happen that day. I would call now and asked for a date it will be poured, if is this week they will know when it is booked in. I am...

Not wanting to concern you, but our slab was completed by the end of Week 4. At the end of week 9 the Bricks had been delivered and where placed out waiting for the Bricklayers to start in Week 10. I would be very annoyed with them at the moment, you are already 5 weeks behind our build and we took ...

I did find it very frustrating watching other houses start after us, pass us and finished well before us...I think AllCastle are becoming one of the slowest builders around...The quality is good, which would be expecting given the time they take... Hopefully something will happen soon, we got 2 days...

Other than that the only other issues they was already aware of, and are due for fixing today. The Hardwood floor is scheduled for Tomorrow and the Carpets for Tuesday next week. Power...

Week 42 - The Blue and Green stickers have gone so assume they have been fixed, only issue we could see was a missing door handle in the laundry. No practical completion this week, but we have the first walkthrough with the builder scheduled for 7:30am on Wednesday 8th June... This is basically Prac...

Was informed early in the week that Quality Assurance is scheduled to start before the end of the week and would take up to 2 weeks to complete. Yes, you are correct it does include 2 drying out days for adverse weather only, so that would be only if it rained heavy in the proceeding days. That is reasonable, but what is not reasonable is that statement at the end that the 'Builder is not required to notify the owner until after practical co...

Update - no response from the builder regarding a date for the Walk Through, call was made at 3:30pm yesterday and request made to call us back, no returned call either...
