Thanks for your reply. The link talks about the warranty being 10 years but it's actually 6 as far as I know. I understand that it's only serious stuff that's covered, which is why I'm asking if I should have the place reinspected, as serious stuff may not be very obvious to me. The day we did hand ...

Hi all My family and I are currently living in our home which was completed five and a half years ago and it was our first build. We have a very busy family life and due to this and the fact that this was our first time building a home, we didn't know that we were entitled to have certain things in ...

Thank you! We had the retaining wall built along the rear of the property as well as a little along the side. The pool is almost 14 metres long and the wall and pool cost us around $65000.

Please excuse the mess in the pic as we have very recently had the concrete done plus other work. We wanted to use as much of the yard as possible so we had the pool done along the boundary and the retaining wall became a side of the pool. We are as close to the boundary as was allowed. The pic migh...

Thank you so much for your post!! The info you shared will be very helpful. There is one other thing... I thought that the building of it would be covered as am Exempt Development in regards to approvals; you don't think so?

There are timber framing tables that will answer the question. Type of timber and spacing are just two of the things that are to be considered. Thank you for your help. So does this mean that such a roof could be built do you think? I'm planning on purchasing the timber from Bunnings so I'll find o...

Hi all I've just had concrete laid around my concrete pool, and today I found a small piece of steel reinforcement sitting on the bottom of my pool which has now left a rust stain. Does anyone know how to remove the stain? Thanks in advance!

Hi all I finished building a deck off the rear of my house recently, and I would now like to build a roof over it. What I'm trying to work out though, is how far I can span the roof without any supports. Is anyone able to point me in the correct direction where I can find this info? What I'm trying ...

if you mean the shower arm you need to put heaps of tape on, so that you can rotate the arm to be in the correct orientation but not leak I was expecting that, but there was no tape on the thread at all. Maybe I didn't explain myself right, but what has been done is instead of using a rubber washer...

Hi all, About 4 years ago we had our home built by a reputable builder in our area. Over the years I have come across issues but what I came across today takes the cake! Is it common practice for plumbers to roll up a length of plumber's tape and then use that length to form a washer which is then, ...

Hi all I'm looking for some ideas. As you can see in the pics, we have a concrete pool where one wall is retaining and then a metre from that wall is our property boundary where the fence is. So there is a gap between the wall and the fence that I need to do something with. Almost to the property li...

How is this going? Have you done the job yet? If it was my place I would just keep using the Jack hammer on the concrete until it was flush.

I've heard that it can happen. Contact the manufacturer, they may give you replacement panels for free.

Hi all I've been thinking about plumbing the waste pipe from my washing machine into our rainwater tank. If I only use the tank water for the lawn and toilets, does anyone see me having an issue? The only one that comes to mind is whether or not the washing machine pump is strong enough to pump the ...

I wouldn't be happy with that. I had my driveway done a couple years ago. Because of how big the job was, the concreter did it in stages. What I see on your pics is where the water ran off the driveway while they were spraying the concrete to bring up the aggregate.

G'day Hope I've posted this on the right place [emoji16] I have been building a path/steps using sleepers, and I've placed small gravel for the surface. I would like to keep them part of the path rather than on the lawn. What do you all suggest I could use? I have done a little research myself on wh...

Hi I live in Newcastle and built with Blue Haven Pools, and I will never use them again. I was very disappointed in everything they did.
