Hey jaedencook, how are you enjoying your place? Noticed a for sale sign out the front today, are you moving on already? Got the building bug perhaps [emoji1]

We had Electrodry out to do our carpet and their brochure included grout recolouring, so that could be an option? If Coral don't come to the party, that is. I feel for you! We have midnight black grout and charcoal tiles (and it was never an issue with Coral at any point, though this was in 2015) an...

Do you have a close up on the specimens? I'd say, and it's just a theory but the new growth isn't too dense, but rather spindly. The theory is, that you may need to prune back to encourage more dense growth and any new growth has protection so its color stays red longer. I have two varieties of aus...
That's a good theory, we haven't pruned at all since we planted them in November. I'll grab a closeup in the morning. T...

For a start, I would scrape the wood chip mulch away from the trunks to avoid collar rot. Maybe the mulch is drawing lots of nitrogen from the soil. Thanks, the top of the root ball is level with the mulch layer ie. the trunks aren't covered. But I will try that. The mulch is composted forest mulch...

If its possible i think it would be great to line it up with the eaves but does that mean moving the posts back? Or the roof overhangs the posts? I think the posts would look best in line with the bricked post. But really im sure it will look great either way. That's the dilemma, either the roof ov...

Hi Mand do you mind if i ask what this is costing? We are building the Noosa29 and I also will be extending the patio area after handover We looked at a stratco aluminium open pergola at first which was around $5k for 25sqm. We also got a quote for a roofed patio just in case which was $6k. In the ...

One thing to consider is how much water drips and streaks will show up on shiny black surfaces (a lot). We went with black/white/blond timber throughout and think its a pretty good combo. But we picked white bench tops for that reason.

Same..align with eaves. Following with interest... we'll be doing a pergola for a courtyard area too after handover. Very similar size. Can I ask, did you opt for aluminum or is it because patio builders didn't want to touch the job? We are wanting a timber one, so interested to know if there were ...
Hello, we asked for aluminium because the amount of maintenance for timber wasn't appealing!

Question for anyone who might be reading... We received some prelim 3D drawings for our pergola design. You can see that the posts align with the alfresco brick post and the brick wall at the back of the house. This means that the roof panels also align with the bricks and don't extend in line with ...

Wow, it ties in so well with your house. So much extra space now! Is the pool going in between the patio and the jacarandas you planted?

We have several corners in the house which are not 90 degrees, maybe even have the same carpenters as you, but both the supervisor and the private inspector said it was all within tolerances. Feh. Hope they fix it for you but you might find they have the same response [emoji22]

What a cool idea! Will you anodise the screens rather than powdercoat? You might need to due to the heat on the screens from the fire pit? If so use these guys - http://www.universalanodisers.com.au/ I looove their work. Excellent suggestion, thanks!
