Congrats on the house at long last defdaz!!! I'm sorry handover was a big letdown, they shouldn't have left it in such a terrible state :( Have you started moving in yet? What are you sealing the grout with?

Hi guys! Where were you two last year? There were a bunch of Daydream 30 builders and no other 28s like me! We've now been living in our house for three months and we love it. The layout is perfect for our family (3 young boys) and there's rarely a day that goes past without me consciously thinking ...

Murray, we still don't have our OC and we've been in for two and a half months! I ended up getting a letter from Coral - a certificate of completion that the bank would take as proof that the house was finished to release payment. Otherwise I'd be living in an institution by now. Our solar panels ar...

Hello Coralers! Long time no visit :) Our build time was 154 days and as many of you know, that was not met. I think they might have pushed out all build times as a result as it was just becoming too unrealistic. As to the build price, ours was a base of just over $207K on the old Indulgence package...

Thank you. That all makes sense. I think we will hire a private inspector as certifier is paid by Coral so they would be very biased and go through the CDC process instead of a DA. Hope your OC comes though soon, are you allowed to live in the house before you receive the certificate? I sure hope s...
I sure hope so - we moved in a month ago! LOL

No, we didn't get a private inspector in the end. Yes, the CDC is instead of a DA and Construction Certificate. The ceritifier will approve the plans and then check various stages of the build to ensure it complies. They will also issue the Occupation Certificate at the end (we're still waiting). Th...

Are you not going through a CDC? We didn't have to do a DA, which surprised me no end. We have built further forward on our block than either of our neighbours so I thought for sure we'd have to do a DA with a boundary relaxation request, but we got a CDC without too much drama.

We built in Raby - a knock down rebuild. We signed our contract back in October/November last year. There's a timeline on the first post of my thread. We had a fair few delays. Four or five site managers and a whole lot of days where nobody was on site for no apparent reason. We also have some outst...

Love the dining table and chairs. Nick Scali? Bet it feel amazing to be in your own home Ah yes, my fourth child (aka the dining table). I love it. You should see me cringe whenever anybody scraps a plate or cutlery across it. Nick Scali indeed. We have the matching TV table coming next month and n...

Welcome Stacieandshaun :) I built a Daydream 28 not far from you - we've been in for a month. LOVE the Daydream and it suits us very nicely with our three boys. You can see some pics from our house in my thread (link in my sig).

Yeah, the messy fridge makes it feel very 'lived in'. The red kettle, toaster and coffee machine are awesome. Absolute coincidence with the teacup and just a messy kid not putting his cup in the dishwasher with the other cup. BUT, the Minnie Mouse tea-towel is not an accident :) I plan on getting mo...

Manderinne, this is the clearest photo I could find with the termimesh showing - and as you can see, it's not real clear. There were some places we didn't need it and others we did. http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/hh566/Mellywil/Termimesh_zpsezq9tp2h.jpg

We got our termimesh guy out to talk to the concreter. I can't remember where we needed it, but it only cost us a couple of hundred, maybe not event that much. The retaining walls; one was done prior to CDC being issued, the other two still aren't done... Depends on whether they are required for bui...

Wow, it looks great sebjub! I really like the flat grey tiles you have in your bathroom. Our grey tiles are lighter and textured, but I like the flat now that I've seen yours. We have white floor tiles throughout (I think we might actually have the same tiles) and after being in for a month, I can t...
