From what I can see, the height of the edging is such to allow for easy mowing.

Gosh I love your house Shambini! Building a custom Sterling home in Adelaide. Thanks CustomStirling. I'm almost at the point where I need to quit my daytime job just to look after the garden?

Mint you should grow in a pot so it doesn't get out of control. Basel is a summer plant. The rest you can grow in the ground and will look nice. I have Rosemary in our garden. It can get big but I am training mine so that it becomes a manicured lollipop topiary.

Is anyone raising the ceiling height upstairs? I'm undecided We went for 2.7m ceilings to both levels and are really happy that we did. It makes the space so much roomier. We would have liked 3m ceilings but at that point you need structural steel and the price increases exponentially .

Our Phoenix built by Metricon in Adelaide has brick, cladding and hebel. This includes hebel to both levels. What they might mean is that you can't hebel to the second level where it sits above a non-structural walls, unless of course you pay up for additional steel supports.

Tip pruning will encourage growth and also make them bushier. Try to do it on a cloudy day to prevent the leaves from burning. Spray the foliage and with a 50/50 blend of Seasol and power feed .

I personally would not care about the state of house or the defects on the proviso that it is spotless and with no defects at handover. It is my opinion that you should let them do their job and once a stage is finished, raise issues. Just remember there are personalities and feelings on both sides....

Looking great and lots of progress for such a short timeframe. You will have to start growing your own bonsai trees.

Here are some more progress pics of the back yard. Pool cover is on but it is too effective to keep off (doesn't look the best). Out pool is around 30 degrees even when it's cool outside. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/23/d327efaa7ab9c99b421b67630a50d611.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/1...

Realised we didn't get sarking. What do you think about not having sarking with a tile roof? I heard it is normally only with colourbond roofing. If you put it how much did it cost? It depends on the size of the roof but around $2 - $3k. I got it with colorbond. Not sure if you need it with tiles .
