Perhaps even think about reversing the stairs (unfortunately you'll lose the storage off the garage) and creating a visual feature with the main entry. It will be a little less convenient for traffic up and down, but it will definitely help...

Our kitchen fridge is a French door, and pros are as per previous comments - really good for wide platters, most common items are presented between waist and shoulder height etc. But... freezer accessibility in a below bench height drawer is a pain in the backside. Our overflow fridge in the walk in...

Leave the portico as is; it's a nice contrast with the cladding and bricks, and ties to the roof really nicely. It's the black door that could change the overall look, but only if you're prepared to do something different, like: Dulux Colour Atlas - View Range of Paint Colour Palettes | Dulux

Hidden Electrical Outlet Kitchen Island - Google Search Agree with chippy - don't spoil a beautiful stone benchtop with a pop up. Have a look at the powerpoints hidden behind drop down false drawer fronts in this google image search.

Our builder (Novus Homes) referred us to Intelligent Home in Osborne Park. They did smart wiring (wired LAN, security & access) as well as supplying and installing some surround speakers.

We did our roof in Shale Grey, and it can appear anything from the light grey in your picture, to almost white. It only went on a couple of months ago, so we haven't yet seen it in full overhead summer sun. Rather than photos, you're better off seeing roofing in person. Contact a few volume builders...

Is 1.1m the distance between the media room and the wall at the back of the garage storage? What about the distance between the first stair and the media wall? It looks less than a 820mm doorway on the plan. It's a big house even by Australian standards (>350m2), and yet the stair design and hallway...

At worst you could have it excavated and backfilled with sand. It will then be a lot easier to hand dig later on.

In regional Victoria, I'd try and configure a mud room entry from the garage via the laundry. It might mean giving up some of the 3rd car space though.

Bear in mind that you can't open a fridge door past 90 degrees if it's in the corner, which may impede vegetable drawers sliding fully out (and removing them for cleaning is really difficult too).

NoR or SoR? We're building NoR and Siciliano Painters seem to do a lot of work around us. I've had them quote for finance, but will revisit and get two more quotes before proceeding (painting after handover in Dec/Jan).

What has likely happened, is that the pressure from the nail has cracked the plaster within the paper sandwich, and created a floating lump of plaster held only by that outer layer of paper. If you use a stanley knife and cut around the edge of the raised section, you'll find a lump of plaster freel...
