I think some of the problem may have been with site supervisor but most is with head office. Making promises they didnt keep and getting them to sign papers with no maintenance inspection. They are also trying to give them the keys before the go back for inspection. They believe the house is built a...

I was hoping someone could tell me what the cheapest way of grassing my backyard. It is a space about about 10 m wide and 7m long. Would laying turf be best or using a rotarty hoe to level and then lay grass seed? Seed would be cheaper i guess but does it work?

Do not go near these guys. Some friends are building with them and had nothing but problems. They had a block ready to build in May last year. Was told they would be in January this year and so not in. At start they were trying to build over easements but council refused. They took about 6 months to...

Not my house luckily, but some friends of ours. Told them not to build with these guys. Is there a statutory law that a builder needs to come back after 3 month period. I thought that there would be and that any contract signed would be almost void as they have to do it.

In the contract it says that they will be no 3 month maintance period. They signed the contract and then noticed afterwards. I thought that even though they signed it, if they fought it the builder would have to come back and fix anything they needed. These people have basically accepted they wont b...

Hi, Some friends of mine are building through a "smallish" company. They are having all sorts of issues with their final inspections. One thing they told me is that, when they signed their contract, they didnt realise that the was a clause in it that they will not be coming back 3 months after build...

We were a bit the same. Our house got put up really quickly and then inspections took ages. In the end it ran over the contract date. At the time it is annoying and frustrating. Dont worry about it too much because at the end you will get a house that will have very few issues. They do 1000 inspecti...

We have had our slab put down. We measured the slab and everything looked pretty good. I signed off on next payment and they started the frame. When that got put down i noticed that my garage floor (which is lower than the rest of the house) as gone into the next room which is the bedroom. I now hav...

We are building in Craigieburn in an area with a lot of rock and unstable ground. I think Berwick is like that isnt it. Made up of mostly sand. They dig down...

From what everyone is telling me with mine is get the 9ft ceilings. If you dont the rooms look smaller and i think it just looks better in general. With our theatre room we have double open out doors with a full glass panel, looks really good but depends on room etc. Every builder has a lot of extra...
