I was going to nail in quads along the perimeter, but then it was suggested I could also use liquid nails instead. What do you think? Thanks

That's comforting to hear. Perhaps some of my stress lines will disappear now. That's a good point too. If I was bothered enough, I think I would unclick and replace. If not, I'm sure my other half will make me.

I'd put down a thin layer of self-levelling compound just to be safe. Better than boards squeaking up and down. Don't forget your moisture barrier before the underlay. Yep the more I think about it I think I should. Rather than do it fast and cut corners, I should do it properly. It's my house afte...

That's true, cleaning up straight away is the natural thing to do and laminates can handle that. Then we thought of our dog! She rarely does it but sometimes we do come home/wake up and she's done it inside. Anyway I found something promising last night called Click Seal. It's applied like glue at t...

They click together and glue isn't required as they say. Though I think you can if you wanted to.

It's funny that every time I tell someone I wont be using glue, they're amazed and advise against it (not that they're experts). So often that it concerns me now. I'm installing it in all the bedrooms, living room, and rumpus. These aren't areas where I should be worried about water spillage, but I ...

I've pulled the carpets out and will be installing laminate flooring. Should I be concerned with little chips in the concrete? Removing nails around the edges of the rooms have left chips up to 3cm in diameter and less than 5mm depth. I'm thinking these are nothing and the underlay will compensate f...

For a house with kids and the likeliness that things will be dropped, would jarrah with a janka rating of 8.5 be good enough? I’ve looked at many species already and noticed that we can mark most if not all of them with my nail. Woven bamboo was probably strongest I’ve seen so far, since it hurt my ...
