Apologies, did not realise you were from Perth. I believe Porter Davis only build in Victoria.

How about this?

http://porterdavis.com.au/homes/prestige/ivanhoe

- Bedroom at the back
- Study at the front, can easily put a door on the study entrance.
- Garage extension to accommodate extra garage storage for bikes, etc
- Price is within budget, and luxury inclusions (which are included in the prestige range) include essa stone bench tops.
- Overhead cupboards can be added without blowing the budget
- Has a WIP as requested
- Luxury package should include laundry cupboards not cheap looking trough

I would recommend other builders floor plans but we only seriously looked into Main Vue and Porter Davis.

Hi, has anyone had issues with not being able to contact BC? I have been trying since Monday and no call. I received an email on Tuesday night but still no call... We have our tile apt tomorrow and I still haven't even signed tender yet. Not sure if I should be worried or not but given the experience some of you have had, I am starting to wonder.....

We had our tile and colour selections appointment prior to our tender. Nothing out of the norm here, and we have had a wonderful experience so far, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

We paid about $40 for an upgrade to each of our 2 toilets.

Upgrade is shown in the following link http://www.raymor.com.au/products/range/Toilets/name/Andorra%20II/item/13414860

Thanks imlost. That's a good price. The ones I want have the cistern hidden so you just have the bowl and buttons on the wall. Again, hopetoun said this isn't a option for lifestyle customers, yet they are in lifestyle displays

Why would they tease their customers with all these pretty (and expensive) upgrades, and then say NO!, you can't have this in your home!

It seems ridiculous that they would restrict their customers ability to spend more money with them... anyway, my rant is over.

Hi Meowsy,

ABS edging here. Saw it on a display home of another builder (would have to look through my photos to confirm where), and do not believe we will have an issue with white silk finish and ABS edging.

We're nearly neighbours :) we're currently in aurora, moving to settlers hill mernda
My mum and I were just arguing about the sandarrah last weekend lol I LOVE all the white, it's stunning, and gorgeous splashes of blues! So, well done, your hoe will be stunning!

I'm going for a Scandinavian theme (if you've seen the London at berry lane) with a dash of Berlin (livingstone at aston)

Tell me about your kitchen, which cabinets and benches? I'm thinking for me, silk polar white cabinets but not sure of benches, need to see bigger essa samples

Just went past the Aston displays, the furniture of the Essex is exactly our style, and the "boutique" range sliding doors we are getting throughout our house.

The basins definitely we're not standard! Why would they do that! I now feel your frustration.

Our kitchen is polar white silk laminex on all cupboards and drawers. Benchtop is Essa Stone Crystal Chalk with 40mm edging and waterfall. And the handles are the ones on display in the ensuite of the Essex at Aston, and overheard cupboards are 20mm longer so that we could open without handles. Splash back is white on white on starfire glass.

Yes, definitely worth a walk through. They have bolero flooring in the livingstone too, so great to see it in full.
Where are you building?

Building in Highlands, Craigieburn.

We considered putting timber flooring throughout the living areas, but ended up going with a 600x600 porcelain tile instead. We did however love the new "Artisan" range of timber look flooring they had at Hopetoun but already had our heart set on tiles by that stage.

Next time you visit the Mernda displays take a look at the Sandarrah 45T tiles on display. Those are the ones we picked, and the house basically has the look we are after.

White tiles, White Kitchen, etc. We will then furnish the house with White/American Walnut look furniture and bring colours into the mix with all the accessories (pillows, kitchenware, etc).

Hmmm, I was told something different at hopetoun. I'm hoping to get out there again next weekend, so will see how I go then. I want the ones that are in the new Essex, at craigieburn, not sure what they are called.

Yep, our SC is currently working out of Mernda, she's been relegated to choice office as she's often mobile. I originally found her at berry lane.

Love the Mansfield facade, but it's not in our budget :( we are going with standard seaside. Still waiting to hear back if ths facade s on display anywhere

We're getting the 29, would love the 30, but again, stupid money stands in our way :)

I'm only down the road from the new Aston, Craigieburn displays this weekend. I might pop in and have a look at the basins your talking about.

Are you dealing with the SC's from Mernda. We did, and they were a big part of why we decided to proceed with Porter Davis after intially having a really bad experience with a different Porter Davis SC at a different display village.

Anyways back to answering your queries. We we're shown 1 standard, and 3 upgrades. We ended up choosing the Raymor Pearl Round Countertop Basin.

http://www.raymor.com.au/image.php?thumbnail=360&id=205

We also considered undermount basins for the ensuites and bathroom, and in hindsight didn't go down that path as the Pearl Round Countertop basin's ended up growing on us.

I truly can't wait for our build to finish so that we can move into our Dunedin!

By the way, which facade did you end up going for? We requested engineers verify if the Mansfield facade could fit on the Dunedin. Our SC really pushed the fact this would be a deal breaker for us and we got what we wanted. I was pleasantly surprised when they decided to add the Mansfield Facade to the standard Facades for the Dunedin!

Thanks mummadj! Do you happen to know where this new type is on display?

And cool meowsy! Must feel great narrowing down some of the million choices to be made!
And re sinks, access and prestige have a few upgrade options but lifestyle only have the one. Not fair

I'm still waiting for a response as to why items can be in a lifestyle display, but I can't have them in my home! Grrrr

Hi Mumtomonkeys,

We are also building the Dunedin and had choice of 3 "Lifestyle" sinks when we visited Hopetoun. I agree that Access/Prestige have greater selections, and its unfortunate you just don't have free reign across all ranges.

I believe the reason is that access/prestige have a contract with one distributor, and lifestyle has a contractor with a different distributor that does not stock the same products. At least this is how it was all explained to us.

Hope this helps clarify things.

Excellent, thanks I'm lost. I wanted to include it but my SC says its expensive to do so, and that we're better off going with the solar promotion at 4k. Right, off to email her again and insist on quote for upgraded insulation

What is the solar promotion your talking about? I have not been made aware of this offer, and it is something that would probably be of interest to me.

Can you provide me with further details on this promotion?

So, reading neilrosh's comments in this and main PD thread, the energy rating came back and it was deemed that more insulation was required to bring it up to 6 star.
My question is, is this a common thing due to sisalation only on walls? Or do most energy reports pass the 6 star raing requirements?

This also happened to us during our contract appointment, but it was due to us changing some of the windows from half height to full height throughout the house. We were actually surprised at how inexpensive it was to upgrade from sisalation to 2.5 bats, and if we had known this prior to our contract appointment would have included this as an extra anyway.

In short, worth the money and an unexpected surprise in our case.

Imlost and Chrystee, thanks. So you both went for a similar door and had them stained-Imlost, Corinthian told me the doors beginning with P are primed, but you can get basically a timber veneer, is this what you are getting? I don't mind those doors with a little bit of glass, I guess I could have textured glass...

Our doors are not getting stained, we decided to have them painted to match our front facade and interior colour palette.

ftdt7882's comment is also correct, you must maintain your door in order to maintain the warranty. We were also told this during our tender and contract appointment.

Corinthian Front Door (hardwood timber 2400 high, 910 wide + 1/4 infill on hinges) $1,036.00

This was taken out of my post above. The model we went for is the Corinthian Madison PMAD104 in a tempered hardwood timber.

ok, thanks for posting as I am 90% sure we wouldn't have thought of it!

Not a problem, glad I could help.

Other things to consider are colorbond downpipes which also are not included as standard.

I notice you removed the alifrost doors and got a credit. Did you remove the doors completely or just change the doors to laminex? I've been told I need to pay to switch from alifrost to laminex, even though I have paid for the upgrade to alifrost doors in a package! Confusing!

Hi ftdt7882, we have just recently had our contract appointment and have shifted from alifrost (included in a package) to silk laminex (which we paid for the upgrade cost from laminex) and did not have to pay extra. In saying this, we also did not get a credit for alifrost as we were told a credit cannot be given on something that is included within a package.

Hope this helps.
