Posting to follow. We are also building with redink. Just a bit behind you I think Ardie. We are also still deliberating over all of our prestart notes. Hopefully I'll make our own thread soon. I'm excited to watch your build.

Hi Pan, May I ask what colour grout you got with the Urban Black floor tiles? We originally chose to go with a darker tile and now we're considering the urban black and I'm wondering if we need to also change our grout colour. Thanks in advance :) No probs. Hi aimees88. I like your tile selections, they look great. May I ask, by any chance, would you know the code for your white 200x400 Arktic Bianco tiles? I picked the same tile today but in 305x605 and I just realized that will mean I will have a lot of tile wastage. Stupid me! Thanks in advance.

Hi, Thanks guys for the feedback. I've written all your suggestions down to bring up with our Redink guy. We looked at a few builders who specialise in 2 storey homes/sloped blocks but found that their prices were just way out of our budget usually because their standard inclusions were top of the r...

Hi Everyone, So my boyfriend and I have finally come close to settling on a builder. After months of looking around, playing with designs, being told that certain builders won't work with our block etc etc we are almost set on Redink. We are just playing with the design at the moment before we put d...

Howdy, So I haven't posted in a while coz I have been so busy lately. But we have finally got settlement for our block this Wednesday. Since my last post I have just been looking at builders but waiting on settlement before we make any decisions. We still need to do a soil test to go to the builders...

Hi Everyone, So our land's slope is a bit more trouble than we initially expected. Homebuyers, celebrations and aussie living homes all said that the slope is too big for them to work with. Which is frustrating because to us it doesn't seem that big but I guess in a structural sense it makes everyth...

When we went to our lender we were told we needed a 10% deposit for the amount of our land. Once you settle on your land then you would start making payments on your loan. When you pick a builder and you start discussing contracts they will ask you for a deposit. It can be between $1000-$3000 depend...

Thanks everyone. I'm still researching builders at the moment. I've crossed metro strata off my list and replaced it with aussie living instead. I think it will be a while before we make our decision because there are so many things i want to ask each builder but you never get a real answer over the...

Oh yeah I forgot about having to get finance before pre start. It makes sense now. Thanks fmac. If you don't mind me asking how much extra did you have to pay for these changes? Say if you included it in your initial contract how much would you have saved?

Also I have crossed homebuyers centre off my list as the guy I spoke to was not very helpful and I had to keep chasing him up only to be told that they apparently don't build in my area. I don't know if there was any truth to that but it was a bit frustrating.

Im in a similar situation. i am building a 3x2 on a strata block 320m2 near Joondalup. I signed up for the house and land pretty much on the same day, FEB 18th, but they are separate. My building contract is meant to be done end of next week, they said 8-10 weeks originally. Thanks Jayboy21. When y...

Thanks everyone! This site has been an absolute lifesaver. I would have no idea what I am meant to be doing otherwise. Has anyone dealth with Metro Strata in Perth at all? Welcome! And good luck with the next part. Where are you building? We are also building on a 300m2 block, ours has a 10m frontage. We're building with Aussie. It was the sales guy that sold us on them and after looking around they probably had the best plan for our block. It's had it's ups and down...
