The engineer said that the repaired bit is much stronger and should last longer than the original bit. We were also told ...

It can depend on where you are and the availability of tradespeople. Construction Services (including Statesman, Hickinbotham and SA Housing Centre) do seem to go rather fast once they start, however. Ours, Hickies, went up with lightning speed; a Statesman two doors down almost as fast; another Sta...

I suppose that's because the bleach kills off the good bacteria as well as the bad. What product did you use?

Will do B STAR. And thanks so much for sharing your experience. Hope your new toilets are nicely sealed and keeping the pong away. When we first complained, and since, there has been an underlying hint that we are inventing the smell--they say things like if the smell exists or something to that eff...

Oh, that's very good news, B STAR. We are going to get someone to check the things that weren't checked with the camera inspection. Hopefully that will happen soon. Fingers crossed, the dryer weather lately seems to have had a positive effect and the smell hasn't been as disgusting and I haven't put...

After removing and scrubbing the Dekfits because they smelt so bad, it has taken two weeks in the outside air to remove the smell from the rubber. There's got to be a better way.

Both main and ensuite, everywhere you mention except we actually haven't noticed the smell in the toilet bowls. At the moment the Dekfits are making the place liveable but we are aware that there is still a problem, and if we close the doors to the ensuite and/or bathroom for any length of time the ...

Do you get any leaking water at the back of the toilet? No, not that I've noticed. Even if I could see the pipes in the wall and/or under the tiles I wouldn't know whether they fit or not. Given that the toilets were replaced because they initially installed the wrong ones, I suppose if the wrong t...

Newport Cube Wall Faced Toilet Suite What brand is yours? How did you track it back to the seal on the toilet? Hi It sounds too simple but sometimes these issues are the result of the u-bend drying out and simply putting a bucket of water down the floor waste fills the u and seals out the smells. W...

Some things are meant to happen. The more places you live in before building, the more you will be sure of what you want. And you will have a great time renovating and making things the way you want them. Great Christmas present to have decided on an established place to buy. Hope your move goes well.

Hi B Star. Sounds possible. They are back-to-wall, floor fix (is that the correct term?). They were specified from the beginning, but when the toilets were installed they installed the wrong ones which were then replaced with the right ones--always room for error with the frustration of having to do...
