I am so sorry to hear you have had such a terrible time with the flooring!! And also sorry to hear about your dog :( Two years down we only have one minor scratch which we can hardly see, our biggest issue with the floor is with it not being properly levelled, though not as bad as yours was from wha...

Thank you so much for the information! It is very helpful. I have now contacted a few people for quotes. One last question, how do you find them in terms of blocking out the sun? I know they aren't the same as curtains but I am thinking they will be similar to our current vertical blinds if not bett...

Thanks John D We have the blinds we had with the build currently so I am not too worried about having to wait, particularly for the right price! I had never even thought of Spotlight, they were on my list in terms of curtains but not the shutters. I love the idea of being able to have them open enou...

Not sure if you get on here these days, or even check. But I was hoping to find out who you got your shutters with (rather then searching back through all your posts!) we are looking at making the investment and would prefer to use a company we know someone else has been happy with!

TBrown I'm not sure if you get on here much these days. I was going to go back and try and find it but was having trouble. Where did you get your shutters from? We are considering them, if budget allows, but interested to find who people have actually used as it will be a big investment. Hope your l...

So it has been a while. I have still been keeping up with a few builds when I have a chance. It is hard to believe that we have been in the house for 2 years!! We finally have someone coming this week to quote on getting the front years finished (once that is done I will put up a photo) but I can sa...

Amazing kitchen!! For sinks I think I'm the end the stainless steel is very practical and if your other appliances are silver it will all match. From my experience of an undermount sink in the future I'd go top mounted. I don't regret for a second not having the built in draining board though. We ha...

At the end of our build the final invoice ended up less the expected (due to some credits for the estimated amounts involved in site works). We only transferred what was needed to pay the final invoice but our bank then drew down the additional amount and transferred it into our standard account so ...

Hi We have views to the rear of our block so the Cube wouldn't have worked to make the most of it. But if we hadn't had the views we possibly would have considered it. Though hubby was also keen on a double garage (concerned about re-sale value) and for some reason I was keen to have the Master away...

Looking sooo good!! Not long now :) Can't wait to see it all put together!! You have very similar colours to us. We scored upgraded carpets in our bedroom thanks to an oversight on a piece of paper from Trevors, was so excited to not have carpet from the builders standard range!!

fmac - thanks so much for the lovely comment re our final plans - it means a lot coming from you! Glad to hear you are still enjoying your house John!! I agree with changing from Red. For our rentals we had red (that red rug look similar!) and we currently still have it in the 'living' room part of the house but I am trying to move towards more the green/teals/blues. I will admit I am a bit over the red rug, as much as I love it! Just can't find so...

Sorry to see the issues with the colour. Just so you know don't worry about the Shale Grey being green. I can tell you we did it as our render and it is a very grey colour, no green! I ended up talking hubby into letting us have the house repainted surfmist! I love the change. Many might not notice ...

Looking good! Not long now!! From experience when you get to PCI my one thing to look out for it the plaster job! we really aren't happy with ours, so messy around doors and windows.
