Hi Steveo / Sue Now in a situation where I have paid a deposit to both JGK and M'con. ! We paid JGK on 29September and they had not, as at 24October even ordered the soil report. Apparently, they were waiting for my decision on the siting of the house. (I was not aware that we had to site the house ...

We are also demolishing and two builders both told me that we have to have another soil test after demolition. Can't help on the 2nd part as we have not demolished yet - so I will be very interested to see the replies to that.

Hi Realise this is a bit off topic, but as you guys built with M'con...Can you please tell me if you were happy with your overall experience. Also - were they within 10% of their site cost estimate and did they build on time? Thanks TraceyE

Hi Kerrie I know EXACTLY what you mean! I think everyone who is doing a knock down job feels the same. See post https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=3028 But your costs sound REALLY scary. Have you had quotes yet for demolition? That is next on my 'to do' list... TraceyE

Hi Daydreamer We got our provisional contract from M'con. We are having a P Class slab including 610mm freeboard due to being in a flood prone zone and the cost including screw piles as per the engineers recommendation (which it does not specify) comes to $20500 (provisionally as we still have to de...

Thank you all for your replies. Mek - fyi the guy at JG King tells me that they used the 'weld' their frames together but now they screw them together like Mecano, so there is no creaking. Tracey
