Thanks Steel, just one last question with your 2nd storey, is it all brick or panel with suspended concrete floor? and how do you find the outside noise & temperature if the 2nd storey walls are panel? The astronomical part worries me too. It is so confusing, they seem to be able to build cheap...

Did you have direct contact with the site supervisor? Did you have an independent building inspector and how do you know what stages to get them to inspect? No. Was only through their office. We had 4 meeting with site super on site. No I did not. The cost was astronomical in my eyes and I did not ...

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I would build with them again. We had some small issues during design which was rectified before construction. Construction went really well, super quick and quality has been outstanding. After care service for minor issues has been quite good. Benchmark spec on a house...

I think it was about $700 for 1m length with fittings so general ballpark might suggest $2.1k for ya?

Recommend hte IKEA PAX system if you can find something that fits the space. It might cost a bit but its heaps cheaper than custom! Like at least half the cost. That worked out best for us even though we had very limited space.

Hey, do you know what the paint brand was? We're in a similar spot soon, having to do the wall paint. We used their recommended. It says Permalux Premium Architectural Coatings Supacoat. We picked Solvers Spirit Grey colour. The amazing Sealer they had was called Supaseal by Topdeck.

Wow. You HAVE been busy. Your kitchen looks great, as do the floors. Proline Stamford is one I had considered but decided against hybrid because I don’t want the beading around the bottom of the island breakfast bar? And do you skirtings still have to be installed? Looking forward to seeing more ph...

Key Handover was on Tuesday so now we can come and go as we please. Our flooring contractors started on Thursday and our Electrician on Wednesday so we had to rush around and get as much painting done as possible. We smashed out most of our main living room and laundry and entry hall way but we are ...

So we did our PCI. Only minor cosmetic work, plus a couple of shower screens and mirrors to install and we would have been fine. That was over a week ago now and currently getting sandbagged. Told they wont be ready till next week which throws out some of our post handover planning out and now we wi...

Wow how exciting that’s it’s all almost done!! Are they painting the walls for you or are you getting a contractor in afterwards to paint? They are painting upstairs and frames. We are doing the downstairs ourselves.

Yeah it does seem quite ambiguous. Noone really says. But I am not going to allow obvious chunks or extras that should have been dry scraped afterwards. If it feels like sandpaper, its probably too much as well :P

PCI will be next week. The only downside I have NOTICED so far is that the plastering has been a fair bit average in places. Everything else so far looks good. I am looking forward to seeing all the finishes in there.

Does seem to be the way with most builders though. They always love leaving fat on either side and never want multiple trades working together. We are so close to ours being done and it wouldnt take them more than 4-5 days if they didnt stuff around but they quote us 4 weeks instead :D
