We are a few weeks away hopefully. Painters put the first coat on this week and painted all the doors frames etc in gloss - it looks great! Next week is taps, benches, switches, handles, air-con etc so pretty much everything except flooring and the final coats of paint... Not too far away now! Cheers

I took one of the window catches off one of the downstairs windows and let myself in when ever I feel like it.... Our neighbours did the same during their build... I have caught a few things that might have otherwise been issues by seeing what was going on regularly. Cheers

We also spent about 100k over the base cost of our impressions 38 Set a budget and stick to it... Include the things that you can't do yourself or that can't be done after the build. Hi Matt, Looking for a good price for 200 metres of speaker cabling - just about to run the HT room, plus in ceiling speakers through out the house. Any suggestions? Is the purple cable you have on your site any good? Let me know! Cheers

Hi all, We decided to just cover the contract amount from the bank, and handle any additional costs ourselves. We did put a few $ aside in our tender to over things like electrical overruns, kitchen upgrades and a few other bits and pieces, but in the end these were not enough to over our additional...

Hi all, we went to our block today to discover that we have been levelled... Our build platform is higher than I had thought, we are going to have to bring in a reasonable amount of dirt to level the rest of the block off again as they have borrowed a lot from other areas... Still very exciting to s...

Agreed i wouldnt do this in my home, but its a small room for 2 rows of couches - just trying to make more fit. There are compromises everywhere - cavity sliders mean no fireplace as well. Cheers

I would place couches where the doors are now and look torwards the exterior wall (or vice versa) I am not sure that you really have room for 2 rows of couches given...
