I have them. Recessed so they go into the ceiling space. Note, you likely need to design it at engineering stage as your roof or posi truss will get in way. Any tips for someone who would like to have this done in their current home that's already been built? Does this require me to tear down our c...

Turning the valve doesn’t reduce pressure, only flow. Is there a pressure reducing valve? Also is there an overflow pipe? If not, maybe a small bucket is the most practical solution.

Screeding will cause lots of issues. Cutting the slab to make a rebate is the way to go.

Mate, I'm not an industry lobby poster. I've built two OB houses in the last 10 years and I wouldn't even think of doing it without insurance. I work in the building industry and just like I expect that if something was to happen to me on a worksite that was not my responsibility (and it happens al...

If it's a large area, most likely for an expansion joint so the grout doesn't crack. FYI, it's more work/money to caulk it than grout.

They can do it by making the posi truss lower in height in the bathroom. I did it in my shower area only, but no reason you can't recess the whole shower. They are fobbing you off because it can be a hassle. I didn't need to recess my bathroom to make my tiles flush with my 14mm floorboards.

May be better to find bricks that you like rather than the cheapest.

How much have you paid them so far? May just have to cut your losses and pay for the rework. That's the risk you take with owner building.

Yep this is what I am investigating now as well. Moving away from ducted options and looking at split systems like this. https://www.daikin.com.au/our-product-range/ducted-system-air-conditioning Haven't looked at the costs yet. You've actually provided a link to the ducted system :D

We've gone 90's throughout for no other reason that when I got the sparky in to replace the halogens that is what he had in stock. Had 70mm halogens in the bathrooms originally which we've replaced with 90mm LED's set at 6500K. Previously for shaving I needed to switch on both halogens plus the lig...
Great, so I think the size is a non-issue then. 90mm it is. And might just go the switchable so I can play around with ...

Maybe I'll refer to it as a soft hardwood! lol When building my house, I wanted to use Vic Ash/Tassie Oak arcs in the wet areas. Unfortunately the timber yard didn't have them in the profile I wanted, then looked at Meranti which was FJ, it didn't feel right and was very soft so in the end I ended u...

You're not understanding chippy correctly. Meranti is timber, so your question paraphrased is 'should I go for timber or timber'. Personally I'll choose Vic Ash or Rubberwood ýover Meranti as Meranti is a softwood IMO.

'Do I need to do anything extra while installing the heating so that it can accommodate the addon cooling at a later date?' You need to increase the size of the ducts. Ducts for gas heating is smaller than for cooling.

I don't think it will last long. Personally, rather than use batteries to store electricity to heat up the slab at night, you'll be better off to heat up the slab during the day when the solar panels are proving free electricity, One other issue with using electricity to heat up the slab is the cost...

If you go in wall mixer taps just make sure you get a high quality one with long warranty. The only thing that goes wrong with them are the cartridges which can be replaced. You may have trouble getting replacements for no brand ones in future. Due the fact they are difficult to replace later on, I ...

Mate, the do is, dont do it. Saves power great heating but just a hassle. If you live in Russia or Siberia good idea here in Australia and some carpet on the floor BONZA. And why even the garage ? It's a hassle, but as you said great heating. Did you end up installing it?

I wouldn't get my accountant to build my house. Conversely I wouldn't get tax advice from my builder.
