Sim1k, The doors and trim are vivid white so I suppose that makes a difference too. Also my rooms face north with big windows which brings lots of light into the rooms. I have bleaches half in the bathroom and because this bathroom is a bit darker, I am not so happy with it so may redo in another co...

If you mean steel rods then that's probably OK...... but would need to see a photo to say any more. No I don't have any photos, I was just going over everything before handover and think this was just in the back of my mind as I thought it strange at the time. No steel rods using just those bracing...

My house in Tasmania is nearing completion and I have a couple of issues. If Bashworth and building-expert are around can you give me any advice on the following: 1. I'm not sure but I thought that I saw the roof trusses cut in the middle with just some steel spiking holding it together. This seemed...

Burnished Concrete
Building A New House

I have in my house contract, burnished concrete. However the concrete has been floated smooth, but not glossy or shiny. I don't believe it is burnished as stated in the CCAA information I have read on the subject. How do I resolve this dispute with the builder when they won't listen to me.

I have used Chief Architect and was very happy with my plan (as was my builder) but I wasn't clever enough to work out the land bit. I recommend this program though.

This is the one I am having in my laundry. It only holds 18 litres but I don't think you need a gigantic tub to soak these days. If I need anything bigger I use a big bucket. http://www.reece.com.au/bathrooms/products/mizu-round-500-inset-kitchen-sink I think it is quite nice and makes a point of di...

Yes chippy that's the thing.... the late spring/early autumn sun being cut off from where Oh - and builder kind of stuffed up (if you ask me) - he went and put the rafters at 900mm apart which was his original plan, but I wanted wider. I think he 'forgot' then tried to tell me I asked for them narr...

Hi TippyToes! White Duck is much warmer in tone than those that I've suggested and I think with your kitchen colour I would go a cooler tone. Ghosting Half is nice but probably still a touch too warm, and Ghosting Qtr is closer to an off-white than a grey. I would look at Bleaches Half or Vanilla Q...
