Wow, TA quoting me approx $850k whereas Semore might be $550 for a 29sq build if you can get the design right ( being patient with the time ) and manage the build with a private inspector, you will get a much better value for money with Semore over TA. ( this was true with 2020 pricing as well). I ...

Hi all, Thanks for your advice! I have checked with Semore, unfortunately they do not build in my area (inner east of melbourne). Don't know why. We passed TA because their limited flexibility in customizing existing floorplan. We have now signed contract with CG and in the design phrase. Hopefully...

Hi @katzie123, just thought to jump in to share my bits. I had the same experience with TA in the past. I guess now they are more in take it or leave it mentality. The amount of money they charge for upgrades are simply not worth it. Good advertising though :D I ended up with Semore and only finishe...

Hi Davos, we've just completed the frame stage with Semore, and I think I can already see what you mean: there are a few things that they assure me "haven't been forgotten", but are still on the to-do list. Do you have any advice or things you would do differently you can share? If the th...

Pre-slab inspection today. My private inspector picked up a few things, many of which they fixed on the spot, with agreed solutions for the others. The building inspector then came by and insisted that the remaining items (same ones my guy had picked up) be fixed before he signs off on the pour; so...

Hi wfh. We where thinking of building with inspired at the same time with friends. We got a bad feeling and backed out of the deal as they were parting ways with their builder Como Homes. i believe you can use electric to power a boiler, but i think it is a bespoke option and quite expensive @alexandrachel , @sifntdaz - Hydronic can definetely run on electric heat pump ( talk to DPP hydronics - I guess they are the one TA uses as their provider. There's a brand called Stiebel & ...

i'm not so sure it is as simple as adding builder's margin onto the price as there are structural and electrical components to consider. Our HVAC consultant also said that it is not common for houses to achieve 100% heating / cooling output and most places generally go for 90-100% heating and at mo...

interesting..I think it could be due to the quote is from a direct installer. if you add to the builders margin etc it would then bump up to approx 50K mark. which for a 20kw system looks in range. They didn't quote me with specifics like the # of zones or outlets. Could have been just the base offe...
