Oh, I don't know, I think a pit could be quite versatile! :wink: I am sure though that it is illegal, I am just trying to find out what the rules and regulations are. A hoist is a great idea - hadn't thought of that. Thanks perryr. Annie K

Would a "pit" in the garage with a few steps down be useful for oil changes, etc? Are they legal? Is there any associated danger viz. CO2 build-up? AK

Many thanks guys - I have sent an email to our local Dial-A-Nerd now to try and get as much info as possible on wiring and setting up for technology - I image that would be number 1 on the list. With one out of six South Africans self-employed it seems that well-planned home offices are adding a lot...
