I haven't posted here since we finished but now that I know M are reading I'll post an update. We finished back in Jul 12. Had our 90 day maintenance in October, Craig the Handyman came around and attempted to fix a few items on that list however we still have several outstanding items that he eithe...

Yep I'd say that would be why ours was only 26 weeks. We are in but not settled. I only just finished the last of the painting this Sunday gone. Doors took far longer than expected. But I have to say I did a fantastic job. It was good to finally get the cars in the garage instead of having it used a...

I think you guys are missing the point of the 4 week reduction. As free will has pointed out, you are paying for a reduction in contract period, not a guarantee it will make the build any quicker. If they end up going over the contract time frame you are then entitled to the $50 per day damages. Whi...

Vatche - I think you get 12 outlets by default because youre on 2-storey. While I'm only building 1-storey so maybe they will give 8?? For the people who took temperzone standard and already installed, is it noisy ? Is it cool / warm enough? We have 9 outlets in a single storey. We have the standar...

Now that we have spoken to Sentinel it is "we're happy to alter your outlet type and charge for the different cabling and new outlet"...... Anyone else just go with the Hills Hub in the garage and the standard outlet arrangement? Our development will be NBN enabled in 2013/2014 so I am no...

Question: We have a lot of clay all over the slab from the machinery that dug the trenches for the external plumbing. Do M clean the slab before flooring is layed and in the uncovered Garage and Alfresco areas? Just hope that you don't get much rain. We had clay all around our place and every tradi...

Anyone think about meeting their SS and handing over a slab of beer to get off on the right foot? Or are they not allowed to receive gifts? :: :: I can't understand this theory. Maybe if you tell them "there's more where that came from if the build goes well", it would work to your advant...

Given your experiences to date, is $17K worth the peace of mind of a stress free and on time build with a fixed price contract ???? Absolutely, no question about it.

They had a charge of $480 for upgrade to 3 Phase in our tender but we wrangled it for free. We also had our meter box installed by M as part of the site costs. This was done well before PCI. We are in a new estate with underground power, maybe that makes a difference.

think you guys got ripped, we paid the same amount for way more zones... I got the standard system, only paid $316 for one extra zone, unit is working brilliantly.

It is most probably manufacturer/model specific. We went with the standard model.

My Father-in-Law had a Clarendon house built in 2009 and went with an Actron unit. When it was being installed, the installer asked "how many zones do you want" and he said 4. They got the 4 specific zones worked out, but the installer said that there is always a "core area" tha...

Reed switches are a bit of overkill IMO. I have enough PIR's to cover all areas, if they go through a window they can't avoid them. I will be replacing the standard Alarm that came with the mansion package not far down the track with a more more advanced system that will communicate via the net. I a...

We had the tiler back today to finish tiling up behind the range hood where the electricians damaged the gyprock. I'm sure none of you will be surprised to hear that the tiler has somehow managed to gauge out a piece of our brand new Bamboo flooring. Not only that the sne@ky little scumbag didn't te...

Glad you like it We are very happy with our floors as well. The Theatre is painted in Dulux Teahouse, walls/ceiling/aircon duct using Wash and Wear Matt and the Trim/Door using Aquaenamel Gloss. Our frustration is mostly gone now, I think all of us here know what to expect from M at this point, so i...

Over the last 3 days we have installed 37 down lights and down a massive clean of the house ready to move in tomorrow. I'm so glad I don't have to crawl around in ceilings for a living. Gyprock dust is so fine, its gets everywhere and is so hard to clean out ofthe gaps in the Bamboo. Unfortunately w...
