Hi Aubin, Did where did you end up buying your fence from? Me and missus are looking at several companies, WA pool fencing being one of them. Have you heard of http://www.coastal-fencing.com.au ? They seem to be pretty promising too. Curious to hear who you went with and also how much you end up pa...

I'll bring back this topic. Less than a year ago we had granite pavers laid and sealed by a professional with clear sealant. Now we have added more pavers around the house and I was about to call the same person to come back and seal the rest of the pavers but I've noticed that even after cleaning w...

I see no-one has replied and I can't give any advice on sprinkler systems but I can show you what we did down the side of our house. Our landscaper suggested blue metal and stepping stones as a cheap alternative and we are quite happy with the result. We usually only go down there to clean up the d...
Thanks for your reply and suggestion. We might consider that as well. How do the weeds grow on it? I've been told that ...

It's time to seriously think about garden at the back and on the side of the house. Display houses looking good but there are so many choices and ideas so I am completely lost now. First of all: what do I need to install Sprinklers system to water the plants at the back of the house or drip system??...

Are there any feedback on Tiger Shark or SharkVac? I've seen many robotic cleaners in the store like Zodiac and Barracuda but been told that Hayward one's are better option.

Who can recommend me a Robotic Pool Cleaner. I've been told at the pool store that Hayward's Tiger Shark or Shark Vac are good. Any comments or feedback on them? Are there any others? Thanks

Thanks fmac. I'm looking at getting some mulch for the back and sides of the house. I laid some step stones pavers but not sure how low the sand should be so the mulch don't go over the pavers (if you know what I mean). I did stepping stones similar to the rest of the paving in the alfresco (i.e. at...

When buying mulch what would be more cost effective: to buy it by the bags from Bunnings or to buy it in a trailer from Soils Ain't Soils? What is the difference between mulches and which one would people recommend?

I've used two recommended here inspectors and both weren't good. Plus it really p!ssed off our SS because we used independent inspector as he (SS) thought we didn't trust him and his abilities to do his job.

Hi there I have just put a deposit on a block of land in wandi, the whistling grove estate. The block I chose is 288 sqm and is 12 metres wide by 24 This is my first build I would love to build a 2 story, but it is to pricey Basically I am after a great house to fit on the block, I am considering R...

About to do Dymark epoxy coating for our garage but a little bit anxious. First step is etching but my understanding is that it's an acid wash however, our exposed aggregate driveway just been laid and sealed and I'm suppose to wash etching off the garage floor which means it will go over sealed dri...

Wow who was charging you $8.5k?! My painter is costing $3600 that's for dulux sealer, wall prep and 2 coats paint. Price also includes 2 feature walls. We painted our entire current house, never again! haha No way would I pay $8.5k though That was the builder's quote. It had one colour throughout t...

Our SS currently has 29 builds. We're considering doing our own internal painting too. Unless you say it's horrific. In which case we may have to re-think. Because twiggens said so. We did our own internal painting because $8500 for the whole house seemed a lot of money to give away. In the ...

What about if you have chlorine pool and granite pavers around it. Do you need to seal it even though pavers are supposedly pre-sealed?

I'll joint the topic. We have granite pavers that been pre-sealed, however we've been told that we still need to seal them. Paving people told us that they would change colour when we seal them, i.e. go darker than original. Is it possible to avoid that transformation, is there any way to seal them...

Ok, so how do you deal with a$$holes who quotes you one price, you agree to that and then during the job they keep adding extra $50 for this, extra $100 for this and then "it's too difficult to do we have to add another $200". It's all while they already started and half way through. They ...

We never settled for the lowest price. I know that you will pay for it later, but apparently it's not always the case. Just wondering, is every single tradie is as lazy as koala? Almost every single one of them we hired turned out to be late for their job or not turning up at all and calling you on the day to cancel without good enough reason. It takes them forever to finish one job simply because they are not doing...
