Lucky you 3xbuilda. At least half of the long battle has been won for you. The Telstra rep from the held orders dept told me things should be fixed up on 19/12/08. However as mentioned before this is old news as they've called me up on a monthly basis since July telling me about the delay. Drove pas...

Do you have an interim phone service yet? If not, don't ask for one, Telstra has to pay you $48 per day until they supply you with one. Make sure that you log with the TIO. They did offer me that interim service which is useless for me as it can't be used for broadband or make overseas call, so I d...

I'm on 5 months and counting too. I know a neigbour who's in the same boat and they moved in March this year! Received calls from Telstr*'s held orders dept every month saying work to connect power to the exchange is 'expected' to be done next month, and the next, and the next... Same excuse, them b...

I thought I was the only one having this problem. My charcoal coloured stenciled driveway was done early August this year. I started noticing white salt-like powder appearing on the driveway as the concrete dries. The concreter advised me it's normal and will go away after he hoses the concrete with...

We've built a custom designed house with RC in Melbourne's northern suburbs. They're pretty good when it comes to attention to detail. Our SS even picked out some faults during our handover inspection which we didn't even notice. Of course those faults were prompty rectified. We've got an excellent ...

Hi Rodda, That's a really good sound advice. I'll definitely consider your offer when my house is ready. Thanks again.

I'm planning for a 5.1 setup which I feel would be sufficient for my HT room size. The extra moolah saved on 2 extra speakers can be used for other areas on my house. I have big dreams for the house with a practical budget :) I'm wondering if the Marantz SR-4001 AV/amp would be enough to drive the s...

Hi Matt and Rodda, I knew I could count on the pros to give excellent advices. I'm currently researching the Boston speakers that you've recommended. I heard from a mate recently that I'll be putting audiophile speakers to waste, i.e, won't be allowing the speakers to achieve they're full potential ...

Hi Kanchi, I'm currently going through finalizing my house design with a small builder in Melbourne. I initially had a discussion with H**ley on one of their Esprit range a couple of months back but decided to pull the plug after realising they won't do any extensive modification on their existing p...

The speakers are spanking brand new! The privilege of having staff discounts helps :D I was a little apprehensive when the company brought in these Ushers. Never heard of them before... made in Taiwan... hmmm... can't be THAT good. Must be cheapies for the budget market... Well, that was me being ig...

Hi guys, I'm just wondering if anyone of you have heard or auditioned Usher speakers before. I'm in a position to have the Ushers and Whatmough at a bargain so I'm pretty happy to stick to these brands. Oh, and my room size is 4.7m by 3.8m by 2.7m(H) if that'll help. I'm planning to have these as my...

Hi all, I'm currently fine-tuning the design our my single-storey house and planning to achieve a sound-resistant solution for my cosy 4.5m by 4m by 2.7m (h) theatre room. I've read the Gyprock level 1 brochure and wondering if that's sufficient or are there any other products available. I mentioned...
