Hi kornjen, These fees are basically a bond to cover any costs of damage to the roads during the building process. My understanding is after the build is complete they will do an inspection and if no damage is done you get the $745 back. Hope this helps a little. On other news we are up to painting ...

For our timber floor the only change that had to be made to o increase the kitchen bench height to 930mm above slab. Our flooring is 18mm thick. This is mainly to ensure that the dishwasher will fit in. Not sure about the door heights so may check that one out.

We are getting our builder to do our bamboo flooring and then get the skirtings redone after. They charges us $440 for this and for painting touch ups. We still need to get beading around the kitchen bench but I decided I could deal with this, I just did not want it through the whole house.
