Hi Visine, We didn't change anything from standard for kitchen appliances. Looking at the plan, there is a 15A single circuit which I assume will power the oven, cooktop and rangehood. Maybe the plans are marked up so it is clear to the installer what the points are for? We haven't got any power po...

I only have 2 walls to my shower (as normal) one is external, the other internal.. Niche on the internal, plumbing on the external. I have this as well. There shouldn't be any issue with plumbing on the external unless if you only have one wall. Niche cant go under shower head.

Hi Rups, Looking at your electrical plan, did you get double GPO for upright oven as standards and hotplate as extra? Will you be having GPO on the glass splashback for hotplate?

[quote="Wateman"]Back from our contract signing, boy there are a lot of pages to sign and initial. In the end it went well. We were upset to find out we couldn't have our tiled niches something to do with the location of the showers and the plumbing. We also couldn't have overhead cupboard...

Hey Wateman, Have you sorted out your smart wiring pack? what did you end up getting? did you go for the light one or the four pack one? Did you get HD pay TV or just normal pay TV point? Do you know if we can have 2 extra data point on top of the light wiring pack (4data, 2 tv, 2 phone)? I was told...

Hey there T, One of the advantages (and to some degree, a disadvantage) of being land delayed is the opportunity to scrutinise every option, selection and decision made and continually validate them. +1 I think if my build were to have started straight away I would still have been happy, and probab...

You have to apply to the network for the additional supply capacity. Depending on the area you are in will determine the network you are on. For example Powercor maximum standard is 40amps. If you want the 63amps you would make an application for increased capacity supply that you would submit. DH ...

Does anyone know how many amps you get your electricity supplied to the house. Ive tried asking this question to PD and they said its up to the authority. Is this right? My understanding is PD will need to ask authority to provide connection to the house, hence, they need to let authority know how m...

The house would already have optimal window sizes for the star rating, my comment was specifically in response to increasing those windows in size. So yes, in an already star rated house, by altering or adding north facing windows you may negatively impact on star rating in the eyes of PD. We added...

I'd imagine that the north facing windows would negatively impact 6 star due to the excess heat they will let in during summer. I would be upgrading to North facing bifold door with 3m overhang roof. Thought this will keep the house cool in summer and warmth in winter. fingers crossed my neighbour ...

I totally agree with you, but (and there is always a BUT with builders) 6 star is based on a standard plan on any orientation. The reason why they don’t mention the R-value for walls and ceiling is due to all houses being different on their orientation. Some house may require more or less insulatio...

Hi Rups, The other thing i found odd is that PD claim their houses meet 6 star energy rating in any orientation (it used to be 5 star last year) with only just sisalation wall instead of batts insulation. I would be tempted to get independent energy consultant to rate the house. hey visine, my thou...
