You have to pay the Capital Gains Tax during the financial year that the capital gains event occurs. So If i sell my land in March 2008, I have to pay CGT in year 2007-08 financial year. My understanding is that CGT is applicable on all transactions except the sale of your primary residence. Now - since the land has no house and is not a residence - I think you will have to pay CGT. Hi KanChi - there are plenty of great corner designs out there. I suppose project builders don't like moving anything around because it increases their costs - so if you want to change internal walls - they don't seem to have a problem - but changing the location of a garage is quite a large struct...

Doesn't sound like it would be too difficult to do. Our builder, (Formula Homes) were pretty agreeable on any changes we wanted or required (completly different fascade), I guess you could give them a try.
