We purchased our house 5 years ago with polished concrete in the laundry and bathroom. Not sure if it is poor sealing or what but ours has seriously discoloured over the years - the major walk areas. I have read concrete is quite porous, so I suppose you just need to make sure it is sealed very well...

I assume wireless would work if there was a power failure where wired wouldn't. The wireless ones we have investigated still require the main board to be wired but some have battery back up.

Thanks B2 - I will give that person a call. I am with you on the Saltillo - if we could afford to rip the whole lot up we would. We have young children - it is definately not a family friendly product.
