Island Bench - single sided waterfall?
Kitchen Corner

We are changing the benchtop Stone on the island (1.5mx1.8m) to add a 300mm overhang over the double door cupboard as a breakfast bar (2 stools). We are strongly considering a waterfall end to meet the new overhang along one side of the island (where the wine rack is. Will move power point away. We ...

We are redecorating internally a typical 10yo project home. Looking for colour inspiration please. We have Dulux hogs bristle quarter on the walls and internal doors (finding it too yellow) and stained timber skirtings and architraves (now looking dated). Floors are maninly porcelain tiled creamy/be...

Apologies, I have no idea where to post this question, where to start, or where to look if anyone asked before. We are looking to add a gas fireplace and framed “chimney breast” into the formal lounge of a typical 10yo project home. Fireplace will be on an external wall (brick veneer). Looking at Je...

Typically how many soft close runners do installers use on drawers - just one side or a pair per drawer? Also, how many soft close hinges do installers use per cupboard door - just one or both top and bottom (or more for larger doors)? What did they do at your place? Cheers!

Covering wall pipes and wires
General Discussion

We've ended up with various copper pipes, cables and conduit running up and down the wall and into the ground, providing rainwater pumping, garden hose pipes, irrigation control wires etc. whilst its all quite neat, I'm looking for something to cover it all up, something like a wide colour bond chan...

Thanks to all who have replied. We've now gone a different direction - with a row of very striking Gymea Lilly's instead! Now I've moved on to - "what to under plant them with as a border edge"?

Palms for resort style landscape
Landscape & Garden Design

Currently trying to design a garden bed about 6x1.5m along south facing side of inground pool. So the area gets winter shade (from 4m+ hedge over the neighbours fence) and summer overhead sun in the middle of the day. I am envisioning something with a "resort" look, so looking at any palm ...

Instead of using a standard 9l watering can with say a cupful of molasses at the bottom diluted, would it be possible to reuse a 2l Seasol hose on pack, then attach the hose and spray over the garden much like you do for seasol. Might be easier for those with larger areas to cover. If so, what sort ...

We have several expansion joints in a sloping concrete driveway, where the expansion joint foam has now failed. Joints around around 10mm wide, probably a bit deeper. Since it's on a slope, the Sikaflex self leveling stuff is all going to end up at the bottom! Anyone got ideas what else to use, and ...

We acid etched floor first 3 times, then well rinsed to remove all contamination and dust. Then filled any cracks/holes with an epoxy filler. Then did 3 coats of Dulux Durebild STE. Looks like a factory floor. Not a cheap product. Has now been down for several years with heavy vehicle traffic, solve...

We've just re-finished our 9x5m Merbau deck, and now looking to furnish with outdoor lounge setting, and also dining suite. Rest of the garden is modern, tropical/resort theme. We have fallen for the comfort and simplicity of the King Delta outdoor range of wicker lounges here , but since there is n...

Did enquire, and there was a minimum order of powder (something like 80kg, at hefty cost!). For the record, dulux powderkote pottery was the closest likeness. In the end, decided not to match.
