Not a massive fan of cruelty to animals and I believe that's exactly what shocking them with an electronic pulse, emitting a piercing noise in their ear or spraying them in the face with citronella is. Each to their own though.

Not sure how big the gap is under the fence, but if you bury chicken wire under the soil with plenty on your own side, then the dogs can not dig through the soil. But if you have a big gap as well then you need to fill it somehow - old bricks or something like that. Alternatively, you can get one o...
The biggest gap is only about 100-150mm so it's not too bad. I will most likely just use the dirt from the trench I dig...

if it was me, id just get rid of the dog... I find this rather insensitive and think it would have been better left unsaid Agreed. I really can't give you any advice, but perhaps the RSPCA or lost dogs home may have a solution? Or can provide tips on how to secure your yard, as they would see masse...

what about a giant chain that's large enough to let the dog run around the yard, but not to get out of it? Personal opinion is that it's extremely cruel to have a dog tethered. Not to mention I have a family friend who's dog accidentally hung itself because it was tied up. R.I.P Gonzo :(

Yup, Bunnings sell aluminium strips - check with them about putting holes in it though. I think you need a hole-punch. Timber strips will also work. Self tapping tech screws should do the trick if I can keep a steady arm. Looks like I've got a big weekend ahead of me!!! Would you just keep wrapping...

Get a long strip of timber or aluminium, unscrew the chickenwire from fence, fold wire over long strip and screw the strip to the fence instead. Then the dog can't pull the wire off the screws. This would be the simplest, quickest fix I can think of! Longer term or starting from scratch, it's gener...

Is your dog a Fox Terrier ::wink:: we had a mini foxy that jumped and jumped our 5ft high fence until he reached the top and then the back legs would go 100mph on the fence to get him over and out, he would also climb out 9ft high retaining wall which we had covered with chicken wire ::hyst:: I was...

Hi guys, Hopefully this is the correct section to post this in. Basically, I have a dog that loves to escape wherever she can and get up to mischief, usually on busy roads. I'm trying to work out how to block the gaps beneath my colorbond fence and the dirt. Currently, I have attached chicken wire t...

I've got a similar problem as well, do you mind to post some "after" pics? :) No worries... I'll take some later today. Only thing is, is that I've covered up the tee with dirt so all you'll see is the drain. I can go through exactly what I did though and what I still need to do to finish...

Do you still have access to where you T ed in ? Pull off the connection and see if the main pipe is blocked - stick your hose in it. Did you use 90mm for your plumbing ? I do... I ended up cutting the horizontal pipe and lifting it so it points directly up and down. Water seems to drain fluently no...

Ok so I'm thinking I have an air lock present somewhere in the pipe. As far as I know, I have two options. 1) Install some sort of valve or air release and hope that will start the water flow. 2) Remove the horizontal section of pipe and point the tee connector directly upwards and position the pit ...

I have then put a tank strainer on the end of the pipe which is sitting in a square pit. Everything looks fine but something really weird is happening. I have ...

Thanks for your replies gents. The area that I am having drainage problems with will eventually be a second driveway and trailer storage area and will most likely be covered in around 100mm of crushed rock so there is no real landscape plan needed. I do however, need to get rid of the water. What I ...

Ok so i seem to be talking to myself here but I have had another good idea overnight and think this is a winner. Hi, fence looks fantastic. :D I am looking at putting timber under my colorbond to keep the dogs in and was wondering what you used to hold the wood at the correct height and stop it falling over. The other side of my fence is much lower than my block which would mean the wood would topple over unle...
