Plumber came in. Changed me $50 a tap to fully clean and change the washer. There were 24 taps so that is $1200! Some sort of blue stuff was blocking the flow. They all got stuck in 'flow regulators'. Now everything is back to normal.

To check time filling a bucket with both the bath taps open. If you are not filling a 10 litre bucket in around 30 secs low pressure is going to be the issue. Thank you for your advice bashworth. I checked the main tap (next to the water meter). It is fully opened. Called the water company. Apprent...

Sounds like a low pressure problem. Even the problem with the bath taps (water doesn't come thorugh at the same time) due to low pressure?

Hi, We are having a strange problem with our bath tub taps. This is only about 4 years old house. We have two taps (hot & cold) like the T shape where water comes out from only one opening. However, for some reasons those two taps don't work at the same time when I open both! That means I can't ...

I think that's a bit of over reaction :) I have it where it is shaded areas or where natural grass is is not practical due to other 'structures'. It saves my time, energy and chemical I may use otherwise!

Hi, This a clad granny flat I'm building now. One side of the building, where the sliding door is located, is about 0.8m under the natural land as shown in this picture. http://somersoft.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=8819&d=1339158204 . I'm going to put two steps in front of the sliding...

Any render work & hardwood screens would cost a bit of money. I'm looking for a cheap solution :) http://www.houseofbamboo.com.au/natureed_cladding.html would look nice... but it will get rotten if you have a garden in front of it! I got the paint to match the garden shed. Waiting for a good wea...

Thanks for the ideas! smartlookingsheds might be the easiest to do but thier max height is 1.8m. I would like that to be more than 2m if I'm going for that sort of permanent solution. "espalier fruit trees " is something new to me. You can find some nice examples at http://www.woodbridgefr...

Hi, We have an ugly backyard fence. I have attached few photos covering the whole area (18 long x about 1.5 m high). http://www.teamit.com.au/temp/01%20WallLeft.JPG http://www.teamit.com.au/temp/03%20WallRight.JPG We used to have simple bamboo covering all these time. $450 a week is good for not spending any money on it at the mo. (is it?) House is valued at 600K. So it is not a great return. However, the median price for this suburb is about 430K. So not many people are going to pay any more rent.

there was a guy on the news a couple of weeks ago, Steve King I think, saying prices could fall anything up to forty percent, which is a bit scary. BB. Isn't this a very old news? way before GFC!

Basically, it all comes down to the rental return. For example, if I spend 10K then the modification should increase the rent by $10 per week! Currently rented for $450.00. Here is a compromised version. Here is take 2. http://www.teamit.com.au/temp/internalModificationV3.jpg Bed 1: I know you said ...

I talked to a renovation guy. He basically told me to not to touch any external walls and avoid creating big openings to avoid any need for a beam. Otherwise the cost would go up through the roof. Bed 4's left wall could be an external wall. Removing the whole top wall of Bed 4 also could introduce ...

Valid point. I was thinking about adding a power room for Bed 4 in that left bottom corner. However, I'm not sure if it is going to be worth doing it or not. If I do that then this will be a 4 bed room house with 3 showers and 3 toilets. Is it an over kill?
