I like number 3 but perhaps with surfmist windows and a painted front door for a pop of colour. I've seen some beautiful lime green and aqua blue front doors on houzz.com if you need any inspiration. :)

For those with storage space underneath their stairs - can you please confirm if it has been plastered? Ours hasn't and we've been told that it is standard for PD not to plaster under the stairs! It just looks very unfinished..... Ours is also not plastered.

Obviously if you don't have neighbours either side you can't share the cost and you can't try and recover 50% or any % of your costs because they are your costs to retain your cut or fill. It's not the same as a fence. If you absolutely can't contact your neighbours, then you can only retain your cu...

I believe the party that alters the natural landscape or fall of land is responsible to then retain it. If you are cutting into the land you need to retain it, just as if you then fill on the other side of the block to level the land, you are responsible to retain it also. Same applies to both block...

Wateman, you'll probably find the upgrade costs are largely unavoidable but probably worth it in the long run. Glass splashback is what we went with, but I'm finding it hard to keep clean. Maybe I need better cleaning products? The best way I have found to clean the glass splashback is to use any m...

Personally, I'd change the fascia to surfmist and have surfmist windows, but if you really wanted to keep the Dune fascia I'd have Dune windows. Ia I chose dark windows for our new build and it's probably the only thing I regret. The other thing to possibly consider is your window coverings. If you...

WOW WOW WOW!!!! I am beyond mad. I can barely watch my language right now! We picked out tiles on Saturday that are an upgrade, National tiles wants to charge us $72 for that upgrade. If you can afford it, then I would definitely upgrade to 2.7 ceilings. It was high on our list of must haves when we built.

We're also in Vic and finished our build in September last year with garage on the boundary and we have weep holes. Our neighbour on the other side of us built with a different builder also has weep holes on his garage wall.

Looking good so far hattie, love your pantry and when the benchtops and spashback go in it will really have the wow factor! Not sure what's going on with the gap between your cupboards and bulkhead, it looks a little like they have been made to short? What do your drawings say regarding height? Make...

Hi All, New to this building forum as we just signed with PD and starting in Sept. Just wanted to find out how much does PD charge for bamboo flooring on a 33sqrm single storey? Cheers Kenneth I don't think PD do bamboo floors? They have either Bolero vinyl boards or floating timber overlay boards.
