We have a small brick construct which houses electrical components for a strata unit block, I'm looking for ideas how to seal the concrete slab roof with some form of paint.

i hate to have to admit that i don't know how to do what you suggest but none of my suggestions involve anything more than new kitchen cabinets and rearranging the bathroom so tradespeople should be happy with your original plans and their own measurements and none should depend on a rough sketch w...

my vintage CAD program is not very cooperative and i've excluded the bedrooms and balcony to try and make my plan big enough to see...so the best i can do is post just the bathroom and kitchen that are to be changed.. everything else i suggested is free standing furniture https://forum.homeone.com....
So there is no export/save as option for something like jpg, bmp, etc?

discuss options with a plumber but i suggest that the cost of attempting to include a bath that would probably involve moving the toilet (relatively easy in a wood floor of a stand alone house but extra difficult in the upstairs unit of a block) is not a cost effective investment compared to a gene...

if the washing machine already functions in the bathroom i would not change that unless you want to renovate the whole bathroom and then i don't think there is any value in adding a bathtub for the very short time that it might be used by your own or any future owners' children.. a plastic baby bat...
Yes, full bathroom reno is part of the plan. I'm also thinking about the re-sale value in the future and the idea of ca...

Hi, Looking at floating some ideas of renovating a 2 bedroom Sydney apartment. The apartment is in a 1960's 3 floor walkup on the top floor. The red highlighted section is a single brick wall that is to be removed (this has been done in the adjacent apartment and is NOT structural). The blue is wher...

Thanks for the advice from all. A 40-50mm dropped ceiling would be fantastic. I would like to use some form of lighting which limits the loss of ceiling height. What sort of down lights or other forms of LED lighting is available?

Dropped ceiling would be preferrable. I'm currently in a 1970's unit with the old popcorn ceilings. It's had a dropped ceiling put in they're about 85mm from the old ceiling. Depending on whether you have noise above, I would consider making sure the fixings were acoustic and if sound attenuating i...
85mm isn't too bad. Down lights? The acoustic solution also sounds good.

. The current VIR cabling needs to be upgraded. There would be a couple ways to do this - either channelling through the concrete slab which will be extremely dusty and may not even be safe OR installing a dropped ceiling. The suspended slab will need to be checked using GPR (x-ray) by an engineer,...

Sydney 1960's Eastern Suburbs Red Brick Strata Block of 12. I am on the OC. The original timber door/window frames are worn out and have passed there life expentency. They let a lot of noise in, showing signs of rot as well as water ingress. I know that the balcony is lot property as it's pre-1974 s...
