Really? Wow, good luck Twiggy! I must say I don't envy you!!

Yeah we needed to downsize due to Ash's health. So we figure it's easier if we bite the bullet now and do it while it's still affordable and manageable for us! :)

Yup! House is just clearing finance at the moment, then we're all set. Their banks valuer is coming over tomorrow to do an inspection.

Yeah we will be building here in Beveridge again. We love it here! But we'll likely be living somewhere else for about a year while we build. There aren't a lot of options out here for renting just yet

Were any of these done by the builders or they all done post handover? Whatever flooring we go with, will be done by the builder. We did our own last time and don't want to go through that hassle again, even if it was much cheaper

Thanks :)

Has anybody here taken the flooring option of laminate flooring through the builder (Preferably Henley). I'd like to know how they have held up since you've taken possession of your house. Have they started lifting and so on.

I'm not a huge fan of them, but my wife is contemplating them, so I'm trying to get some info before canning the idea :)

Thanks

In fairness though, if the developer hadn't of insisted that you change your facade, twice, you would probably be on your way already. As for the building permits, I think that's something that's handled by the council? We were fortunate in that our council were extremely quick with ours (Was done in a couple of days), but I know of some people who had to wait 3 odd weeks to get theirs.
It really annoys me the developer being able to dictate your facade thing. Who gives a crap if a couple of houses look similar? Are they going to cover the costs to change a facade? Not cheap doing that!

Anyway, look forward to following your tale. Hopefully it gets started soon. We built with Henley, and honestly, we found them fantastic. Chin up :)

Howdy :) Which part of 6B are you in?

If you haven't already, look us up on Facebook. We've got about 140 residents in the group now, so you might be able to find some neighbours on there :D

What are my options like to get more cabling done after moving in? When we did up the plans for our house my wife had just been diagnosed, so to be honest I didn't have my head in the right spot and I've missed a few things. Nothing I want done is extravagant, mainly things like not having anywhere near enough data points. But yeah, just got that whole double story issue.

Thanks for any advice given

Thanks guys :) If I remember I'll take some internal pics over the weekend, before it gets destroyed by the Christmas lunch shinanigans ;)

I'm actually pretty happy with the rocks in the garden. When the landscaper first suggested it, I was pretty dubious about it, but we decided just to go with it but I really like it. Should look nice down the line when the tree is a bit bigger and can throw some shade over it as well.

That's a nice thing to say about the house though, thank you. To me it's just home :)

Wow that took you a fair while Freidy. Hopefully you'll have a smooth run post handover and can forget the dramas :)
We actually haven't had any issues post handover. Everything has been first rate. Only problems with our house are the ones we created for ourselves by not looking where I was putting light switches on the electrical map lol.

I've been going through my pictures and I realised I haven't really taken many of the house internally since we moved in (Mainly due to waiting on carpet/blinds I think), so here are a couple of photos of our front yard which was just finished (Sans the front path which we have to pave still)

Moved in two months ago now :)

Our curtains went in a week ago and the carpet went in a few weeks before that. Feels so much more homely now. We're still waiting on one fence to get finished though (Should of been done about a month ago). It's stopping us from bringing the dogs over though, so that's very annoying to say the least!

Landscapers start at the end of this week for the front yard, so it will feel completed when that's done. Will still havet o do the backyard, but we can chip away at that

Haven't been around for a few months, and there are some pretty houses going up :) Fair few of these were only just starting or in planning phases then lol.

Eli-Kay, we had a lot of silver sheens in our old front yard which was starting to go hedgish before we sold. Loved them. Our estate gives free landscaping, so we're getting them to run them down both sides of our house to make a fence (Can't have any out front here) Looking forward to them going in

2 months in and the only thing I really hate is how I overlooked the positioning of two light switches. They're in stupid to reach spots lol.

Honestly outside of missing a couple of powerpoints, there's not a thing I wouldn't do again with my house. Would maybe try and include a butler pantry into the kitchen as we're doing it tough for space, but I don't know how that would of got incorporated into our house without chopping off my theatre room (Which aint happening!)

Love my house :)
