Thanks for your replies everyone! We just have normal height ceilings. I think I'm perhaps sold on half strength for the ceiling in 1/2 strength. Though I did love the idea of not having to cut in :) Thanks for the kitchen colour ideas, I'll check them out!

Do you paint the ceiling in a flat finish, rather than in the low sheen of the walls? Would you do the ceiling in full strength or 1/2? Also any tips on a white white that would match ...

Hi I am having trouble finding some inspiration for a section in my soon to be renovated living room. I am stuck as to how to design the wall behind our freestanding wood heater. Imagine there is a long wall behind the wood heater, about 4 metres. 1.3 mtrs of wall directly behind the heater is reces...

Thanks so much for your replies. The house is 14 years old so no BASIX applies. The bathroom is on the 2nd floor, with a colorbond roof and no eaves. I'm not sure then where I can vent to?

At the time I thought they had made a mistake and asked if they had remembered to subtract what the cost of the tiled roof would have been from that. Apparantly they had. I still worry that I g...

Hi Michelle, I took your advice and contacted a local company that actually stain their timber, so now we can get a more consistent colour. It is a lot redder than what I had planned for - am just hoping it wont be too overwhelming!

A bit off the track, but also have a four panel front door, which is very see through. Not so much concerned re. security, but more so for our privacy. I was thinking that I might have to put some kind of frosted contact on them but worried this might look tacky. Any suggestions?

Thanks everyone for your responses! (SIlly me hadn't yet worked out that I had responses!) So as soon as we do the h...

A few months ago we got a quote for our new house for the dark shade of timber. When we went back the other day to place our order, we were told by the com...
