I couldn’t find an exsisting thread, so I thought I’d start one! Hoping some of our new neighbours are hanging around - I’ll need some company to get through the long wait till Settlement! My husband and I have just purchased a block in Stage 3, and this will be our second build. Our block is a corn...

The tender presentation also allows you to make any final structural changes. That way, when you get to your colours/electrical/tile appointment, you can pick your selections based on the house plans you've settled on, rather then using the standard plans and hoping for the best.

I have beautiful grey grout, but it already looks dirty in the front entry (4 fabulous, but dirty, electricans coming through for fit off on Saturday not helpful. Poor things, they took they're boots off but it was so wet that there wasn't much they could do). While we're on the topic - Is there any...

Back from our contract signing, boy there are a lot of pages to sign and initial. In the end it went well. We were upset to find out we couldn't have our tiled niches something to do with the location of the showers and the plumbing. We also couldn't have overhead cupboards around the rangehood due...

From what we can gather from the council, they don't have any requirements for what we have to do. It would be much easier if we had guidelines to be able to draw the line with. We're not the kind of people to do nothing, we understand how frustrating it would be to be in his position. But I feel li...

Okay, so given that he wasn't happy we've tried to do a few things to improve the look. We got a quote to render, but it was in excess of $1000 and so it just wasn't something we could afford - and we weren't allowed to add it to build cost. The renderer did explain to my DH how to add some extra mo...

Hi All, Hoping someone can help me here! Our garage wall is on the boundary of our land. It doesn't go over the fence line. From the very beginning, our neighbour has expressed how unhappy having the garage there makes him. The garage sits next to his patio area, and he's put mesh screen up halfway ...

Looks awesome! Thanks! I can't wait to see them on the front of the house!! I think I'm going to try and convince hubby to head out tomorrow to look at carpets. Given that our tiles are so cheap, I'm hope we can spend a bit extra on nice wool, stain resistant soft carpet.

I'm going grey in our place as well, I know exactly what you mean by the blue factor. We're looking at Taubmans "Grey Comfort", Dulux's "Grey Pail" or Dulux's "Dieskau". The latter is winning at the moment.

We did the set out of our place and 12 other houses. They aren't very big houses, and some of them where easier then others. But none of them were wrong. And none of us had done anything like this before. My recommendations would be to work out what all the measurements are, and have them written on...

We just had our electrical appointment and our electrician didn't mention anything of new restrictions regarding lights in rooms etc. We didn't add many though so maybe it didn't matter. I'm about to email them and ask them to add two extra lights for pendants beside our beds, so if it comes up then...
