That's french lavendar the flowers are a dead giveaway. Yes they are very hardy, make sure you cut them back hard after flowering so you get nice new growth and not just a woody mess.

I had to do the same thing, check all the joins, retape as necessary you may need to pull the duct back a fraction to the join if they are too short like one of mine was.

Both old and new heaters have a filter and I presume this is standard now. Just need to keep it vacuumed. I wish that was true but it is not, in fact most volume builders don't even have a return air duct, your heater will draw air through a wall cavity, lined very roughly with plaster, out of site...

Yes we have the same issue it is the ducted heating. We have a new house built in 2010 and let me tell you what a great job they did with the ducted heating. It wasn't long before one of the ducts fell off in the roof due to the installers cutting/using some duct that was a bit short and they relied...

I planted Emerald Kikuyu from seed at the start of this year and mine is still looking lush and green which I am very happy about. Are you sure it's even kikuyu you are looking at? I think your after ACQ treated pine sleepers not CCA. CCA are the cheaper of the two. ACQ is still a bit hard to find, Bunnings can order stuff in and they usualy are cheaper than most places, including staright from the manufacturer.

I regret not getting a two way light switch for my garage (turn it off or on an both internal door and external door). Sometime I can be outside and use the external door, it pretty hard to get across the garage without tripping on something tring to get to the light switch next to the internal door.
