What is the problem with having the drain under the garage? Your builder wont give you compensation, but if it needs to be repaired it should be their responsibility. Are you still under a warranty?

I would not be paying until I have had the inspection. I handed over a cheque and got the keys at the same time, after I was happy with the end product.

Thanks kek I did, but I dont think a fake camera would work, cause people know real ones cost a lot and who is seriously going to pay $$$ for a few plants. And its dark, I dont think the image would be good enough to catch them, I think they park down the street a little ...(I tracked dirt to middl...
Another downside to doing that is (a) it makes the house look a bit tacky....(b) resale value might be affected...(c) t...

Thanks everyone, but for 9 plants, I really cant afford a $500 cctv camera, I would prefer to build a fence. My neighbours are aware, but I am only sleeping 5 meters away, if I didnt hear anything they wont. How would capsicum spray or chilli powder work? Would they breathe it in?

Either you still want the land or not. This easement was undisclosed, to me that should void the contract. This easement does devalue the property. I would be talking to the agent and either pulling out or reoffering. Don't pay for the land if you are not happy. I would rather be sued than stuck wit...

Hi, my neighbours car got egged on the exact two same nights. This is an established area, and I never really thought it was a crappy one. My neigbhours have all had plants stolen, from large pots, to the whole garden being removed while the house being knocked down and rebult. I can't not replace t...

Mine looked like that too, but they wern't actually scratched, they were just marked by the shower screens. You can buy an microfibre block from a tile place and see if the marks come off. It does look like you have a chipped tile there, that will have to be replaced. Scratched tiles are a defect in...

In my exeriences mortar shade can vary, as can the uniformity. You can get the mortar tested for correct mix, but there is not much they can do about the colour difference. My dad said not to get a colour as it will vary. He was right, but I rarely look at the bricks anymore.

I got my landscaping done about a month ago. 10 days later 5 of my murraya hedge bushes were ripped out of my front garden. I replaced them a week later. 6 nights later 4 of these newly planted bushes were again ripped out of the ground and stolen. I am so angry. What do I do?, I shouldn't have to b...

They have to do what is on your contract. If you hate the tiles, get them removed, get them to get an inspector to check the integrity of the house and then get them relaid, or they can rebuild the frame. If you can deal with the colour, pick a $ amount. I would start at $5000 and see what the build...

I believe if its on the plan it still belongs to you. Fences dont last forever, when that one dies get it reerected in the right spot. But saying that, there was an issue in SA recently that went to court and the person who was disadvantaged actually lost the land. I think this was because they were...

In South Australia, builders do need permission to be on your land to work on the house next door. If you refuse, they can go to court, where they will win. Bricklayers can actually brick a wall from the inside, if they have to. This is what happens when two garages of two houses get built next to e...

This is not a 90 degree angle, it looks like they had to cut the bricks on a 45 angle. I think they did a good job.

The builder dosnt mean weeds and a few rocks, the builder means trees and bushes and old car parts. I didn't even know the day my builder scraped my block so if it is clear of anything of height or large size you will be fine.

I think you have to be reasonable 2-300 item is ridicolous. You also need to rethink what a defect is, you may not like it, but if it falls within Australian Standards they do not have to fix it. Since you took possesion, it doesn't seem that these defects are major or not within standards. Unfortun...

Have you spoken to your neighbour about them fixing the fence properly? The next step is small claims court, which costs about $120 in my state to file a suit. There is not much you can do about them using your block, all builders do it, and trust me if you had an empty block you would use it too. I...

I saw my first mouse too yesterday. I found mine in the cupboard under my sink. I think it came up through the water pipe holes. I have temporarily taped up these holes and will find some more permanent space filler shortly.
