We have two windows that get all the hot afternoon sun. It heats up the room dramatically, although we have blinds installed. I am thinking of getting thick bamboo sheets from a hardware store and putting them in front of the windows (and a few plants, too, maybe cordylines for decoration). Do you t...

We've chosen those fans for our house. Apparently the blades are timber. A blade that big and thick would be bloody heavy if they were solid aluminium. Timber blades will be quieter than metal blades too. The blades are on a good angle too, moves more air at the slower speeds. We are only paying $1...

Hi all! We would like to install 2 ceiling fans into our single storey home. We saw Hellers at Good Guys (4 blade with light) for $65. Right on, love that price. They are plain white. To compare, we went for a quick look at Lighting Illusions and saw some lovely fans on display, one that caught our ...

I think it's pretty obvious the difference between building with Brisbane Adenbrook or Gold Coast. I mentioned a few things that I had queries about (silicone missing from an external wall, saggy ceiling) to my customer service rep last week and she is getting someone out to fix it (hopefully) today...

ok, ok! I will take some piccies of our front yard today (complete with TURF!!) and hopefully you can check it out tomorrow. The turf guy was good, he charged us $3.50 per square metre for blue cooch and if you want it laid, it's $4.50.

And the housewarming gift capped it all off! Its nice to see a builder give a gift that suggests they appreciate the $$$$ you spend with them and not just a token keyring. oh yay!! Congratulations! I can't wait to see the piccies :) I got the token keyring as part of my housewarming gift , too 8)

Some pricing info 5 x 6 metre shed in kit form $3800 30sqm of concrete slab - $2000 Paying someone to put it up....priceless. Actually about $1200. I actually work for a building products manufacturer so the shed company was one of our suppliers so we got a good deal on everything. But it ain't cheap.

We are actually getting turf laid today (just our front yard) and the landscaper has put top soil down. Quite a bit, too, as you need it to come up and meet like the top of the house slab and driveway part. Just put down enough to cover that and you'll be right.

I am in the process of building a shed - we have just had our slab laid last week. Our shed is 5x6. Just to store a boat and boys tools etc. What do you want to know about sheds?

We are on our way! Finally, no longer just a heap of yukky dirt we now have some plants and garden edges down. My hands are not used to such manual labour and a blister has formed, making it's protest known. Poor Me! Before: Landscaper did retaining wall http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v97/Aaurora...

I built the Lakewood 29 with double height bricks. We had nothing but pleasure dealing with Adenbrook. No problems at all. If there were minor issues, they got sorted out within an exceptional time frame. I am so slack with getting new photos, these are old  but this will let you know what the...
