Looks like we'll have to do something similar and keep most of our stuff in the garage then. Not looking forward to it and I'm crossing my fingers the floor guys get a cancellation. Sue

We have a dilemma in that we have to be out of our rental by 24th April, and although we will probably have handover on 18th April the company that will be installing our pre-finished floating timber floors to everywhere except wet areas have suddenly got very busy and can't fit us in until the 7th ...

Hi Sue, Noticed in your 3rd photo, looks like bathroom or ensuite, there's a hole on the floor. Is it because the drain hole was too close to the vanity?? It looks a bit strange, wonder how is your builder going to finish that part?? Hi I did notice that and have made amental note to question the s...

I love the large eaves on your place DeeElle, the build seems to be moving along very nicely. Did they give you a completion date? Our place is well behind schedule but a colleague of mine had her house completed in 18 weeks with no delays or rain days either, so fingers crossed for you. Sue

I went for my weekly drive past the house to see if anyone was there and what had been happening this week only to find I was locked out. I was so excited to find our house had a front door, then disappointed I couldn't get inside to have a look around, but I managed to get a few photos through the ...

We had to make a single level project home into a split level practically custom design due to our overly slopey block, so this means that the bedroom level has normal height ceilings but the living areas are all 2.9metres tall. It might get interesting trying to change the light globes but it makes...

Yes Cookiemonster, we made sure our block was extra slopey so the Council could mull it over for 12 months to justify their salaries. Not that I'm bitter. Sue

Finally I don't have to worry about rain now the roof is complete, only to be told that one of the water pipes just happened to jump in front of someones saw while the insulation was being installed and there had been a bit of a flood. The supervisor assures me that its all fixed and the plasterers ...

We're building a Memphis 28 at present. Overall the experience hasn't been too stressful (except for the mounting costs due to Council requirements, but thats not the builders fault). The showroom staff were more than helpful with our difficult site, and went in to bat for us when management at firs...

Hi We have a similar sized block but with a more substatial sideways slope and did have problems because of this. We finally persuaded Eden Brae to customise one of their designs for us to make it split level ( at a price!). check out my blog for details http://sydneyhills.blogspot.com/ Sue

We chose the Monier Barramundi tiles for our place. When I first saw them on the roof I thought they'd put the wrong tiles on as they looked lighter, but they were correct and they look great now they're finished. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/SueParkin/P9220778.jpg http://i260.photobucket...

Thanks Shady, seem like you're a neighbour then. Yes our supervisor is Brett and so far we're very happy with him, as any problems I mention he get fixed asap. As for the tiles, we did go to Dilorenzo as they didn't give us any other choice, but we went for upgrades because we weren't happy with the...

Hi Perryr We have a 4 metre fall sideways across the block and the council would not relax their cut and fill restrictions for us, even though they did for our neighbours, so we were a long time in council and had to compromise a lot with the design. The up side is we're still high on the block and ...
