Hi all, Bit of an emergency plumbing situation means i need to choose a new mixer tap in a hurry. Would like to avoid buying the wrong thing! I'm usually a fairly obsessive researcher, so being put under pressure means i need to put the call out for advice!! What are features i should look for? Eith...

I'd really love to see them if you can manage it!! I don't think this forum allows uploading, so you'll need to upload the photos to somewhere like http://www.photobucket.com and copy the links across, posting them in [img][/img] tags (there's a button for this above the posting box in the full edit...

You know, after you posted this last night, i looked at our linen cupboard and realised it's very similar. It is a similar colour and style to the first pic you posted (but no pattern) and has chicken wire down the bottom where the return air is for our ducted heating!! I think you're spot on!! I'm ...

Thanks Michelle. We adore it! We thought there's no way we would win it at auction, but somehow the planets aligned, and we did. I often just sigh and think "gosh i love this house". Warts and all, it's awesome!

Thanks Michelle! Great to have some input from a professional :) Hmmm, quite an interesting idea with the doors. I'm terrible at imagining how things will look i'm afraid! Would you suggest going dark timber as in the fireplace/window frames? The only real style i've seen in the houses in our area i...

Thanks so much for the speedy responses! hparis - Taller than the picture rail at least, possibly ceiling height. We have zero storage space in this house so i'd like to make the most of the 10 foot ceilings! Thanks Pauline. I think my husband is imagining us having open homes or something  Mic...

Hi everyone, We're about to get built-in robes installed in our master bedroom. It's a lovely, old Californian Bunglaow, so we want to make sure we get this right! My husband and I can't decide where to put the robes. Whichever way we go, we get approximately 2.7m (width-wise) of wardrobe space. Thi...

Hi there, I've been unable to get a word-of-mouth recommendation for an insulation company - unfortunately all i'm finding is negative feedback! I'm looking for insulation supply and install into an existing house in the Inner-ish South East of Melbourne. Can anyone recommend a company (if that's al...

Thanks so much for posting and updating with your pics kek. Great to see one in action! Our deck is slightly north-north-west, so i guess we'd have a similar issue with light coming in the sides. Since i first looked into these, i've seen vergolas and am also considering one of those instead - quite...

Thanks for that! Not as bad as i was expecting, but still not cheap. Yep, our rear deck is north-facing :D Did you come up with another solution that was cheaper, or just decide to go without?

Just wondering if anyone has installed one of these, and how much it cost. I saw mention that they are "not cheap", but i've no idea where prices would start. Any info would be very helpful!! :)

Well, after having my heart set on a Bosch, i had a look in "real life" today, and it's really small inside. 81L vs 121L for some of the others i saw is a really huge difference. It will be the difference in fitting 2 trays next to one another and not. Such a shame :( There's been no menti...

Thanks for all the recommendations guys! :D I have a Bosch washing machine that has been fantastic, and after reading lots of reviews and recommendations of cookers etc, they seem like a great brand. I think i will keep them in front of my mind when looking.

Totally agree about getting a solicitor. So sorry this happened to you - settlements are so scary, you just hold your breath and hope everyone did what they were supposed to do.

Would be very interested to know what brands people do and don't recommend for ovens, cooktops and cookers. I completely broke mine tonight (by snapping part of the door and having the glass fall out!!!), and am trying desperately to research as fast as i can so i can go out and buy a new one. I wan...

I definitely don't want it for fashion reasons. I'd like a wider cooktop as i frequently have large pans bumping together on a 600mm cooktop, so the extra space is something i'd love! I also love to bake, so wider cookie sheets/fitting 2 pans side-by-side etc would make that process speedier :) I th...

So our new house's kitchen comes complete with a dud cooker - what a great excuse to get a new one! This is the current setup: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v134/nicspics/oven.jpg Am trying to decide whether or not to steal some space from the cupboard to the right and extend out to 900mm....
