All good, no issue with your comments. There is a drain pot for the HSV. The pic I took before the pour shows a hose coming out of the pot which is a submersible pump as we had some rain before the pour. This is the loacation of the HSV. There is a layer of gravel under the sheet of builders plastic...

I luv the smell of fresh wet concrete in the morning. The guys did a great job. Got it done a few hours before a spinkle of rain came thru, which is actually good for a fresh pour. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/12062_1712024900.jpg https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/12062_1712024911.jpg https://forum....

@mofflepop - We had to add 8 extra reinforced piers to the plan along the 2 main edges of the house slab in relation to the pool. Cost wise was not a lot extra. Just had to bore the holes and add the steel and extra concrete. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/12062_1711939530.jpeg

Each Council area has their own Developement Control Plan which stipulates what the requirments are. They differ from LGA to LGA so best to get a hold your council's DCP. Have a look at your councils website and search for the DCP there in the first instance. Hope this helps.

Ideally the pool shell should have been done and then covered before the build. I'm fortunate enough to have 2.4m wide side access down the left hand side of the house. The pool excavation was going great until we hit an old septic tank. Had to arrange for a separate skip to dispose of it. After tha...

I built on a main road (Highway) which also was near a rail line (Sydney Metro Electric). Yes you will need an acoustic assesment condcuted for noise and vibration. The outcome of the assesement will dictate what measures you need to include in the build. Bimbob has covered pretty much everything th...

The wall is a 9.5m extension of the first wall down the side boundary and then across the width of the block to create a platform area where the pool is going. Just caught up on this thread and it's amazing to see the results from start to (almost) finish. There's always going to be challenges working with any builder. Is there any advice you'd give around keeping the SS (and his team) accountable to what they promised to deliver? Should I be showing up t...

Cheers thanks. Yep building a house has many elements and challenges along the way. Before we bought the block we knew it wasn't going to be your typical build, and that it would throw up various challenges to overcome. We managed to kept things in perspective and worked through each issue as they c...

My sloping block allowed for a double split level to the ground floor, so I have 2.59 in the front, 3.4 in the middle, and 4.3 down the bottom. All our upstairs is 2.59 which we really like. All done within CDC.
