I laid them myself over a week ( no experience) by cramping and secret nailing. We just had the first and second coats applied today after the floor sander finishe...

I had the cramps there ready to go for every board. I think that I cramped the majority of them, of course there were some good boards but the short ones especially required some extra force, I chanced it a few times with just the gun and it didn't get in enough for my liking, then again I am fussy,...

I think for the majority of boards the gun will get them in, me not being a professional timber floor installer, thought $30 was the way to go to get those difficult boards in, and trust me on 4.2 metre lengths I was glad to have it, funny thing is the smaller boards up to 1200mm in length were the ...

If you build up the bathroom floor, how does that relate to the exisitng floor level such as the rest of the house and how do you join the difference in levels from the bathroom to the hallway?

Paslode cordless framer and fixer. They cost a little more but you can get them for about 350 to 400 each on ebay. When you are climbing around trusses and doing eave sheet etc, the beauty of the cordless is it is cordless, and gets in those hard to get to places. I also used a senco air gun and tha...

We had the tiles continue through the shower and it looks awesome, however we are on a timber sub floor so could cut out the base. Surely there is someone thta can cut concrete and you can drop your base down to allow the tiler to put his slurry in to get the required fall you need. For the sake of ...

In relation to our house which is 37 squares, you can see the pictures of the roof on the thread our o/b its a little bigger than we thought. Cost 14500 for colrobond, fascia, gutter and two big box gutters and another 1000 just then for the down pipes and a couple of rainheads. That also included t...

Yep in Melbourne, In regards to using a chisel, it will bring some of the boards in but no all of them perfectly. Floor cramps cost 30 a week to hire and they get every board in 100% and are easy to use just a little time consuming, but if you want it done right it will take time, ore pay someone to...

I am up to 85 m2 out of 120 and used spotted gum and installed it using a secret nailer which as described from the others is easy to use. I have used a fair bit of glue, for the sake of $8 a tube for extra strength well worth it. As for whether to get cramps or not, both carpenters i spoke to said ...
