Thanks for all your responses. I got our floors fixed today. The owner even watched the installer the whole day from (8am - 6pm), so he was really great. They replaced most of the sides, but there are some sides that are lifting still, but we are waiting on the glue to dry first, then relooking at t...

The bamboo is compressed in natural colour. It isn't the ones with the lines you usually see in bamboo floors, as the wood has been compressed together, it is more of a plain light coloured wood. I also think it is the tongue and groove...but im not too sure as i can't find this detail anywhere. But...

Hi I have built a new house and have had compressed bamboo flooring for the entire house. Due to the Xmas holidays and being busy with work, i haven't moved into the house as yet. So the floating bamboo flooring has been laid in the house for about 3 months. I am about to move in and i've noticed th...

Hi I have a different question relating to the topic. I am building in Perth, WA and my builder says that they don't pay any penalties at all if they do run late. Is this right? Thanks B :)

Hi I am building in WA and have paid a deposit almost a month and a half ago. I have just found out that the costs of the house has gone down $2k and there are extra free things being offered with the house. Has anyone had a similar experience and have you been able to get these extra discount added...

My quote for rendering the entire house (in Perth) came to $3k. If I were to do just the front of the house, it was half the cost. Hmm, I might have to investigate if it is cheaper for anyone but the builder to do this. I'm sure it will be, but i have had so many problems and I haven't even started ...

Thanks for your feedback. After looking at the Summitt house display again- the luxxe, we decided to go for another display house (Gemmill Homes). Good luck with your house building, I hope it all works out :)

Yeah I would loved to get reverse cycle aircon, but I think I read in a few threads that they are over 10K, which at the moment is way over our budget. I lived without aircon in Perth for about 7 years (definately not recommended), so I thought any type of aircon is fine, as long as we have one. May...

Hi I am planning to build a house and looking at the provisional sums section. I was quoted about $3k for a soakwell from the builder. Does anyone know if it is better to get an external person to build this or let the builder create this. I was hoping to get the cheaper alternative, but am not sure...

This is my first time to the forum and I can't believe how great this site is!!! I am planning to build with Summit Homes and although it is a little more than what we planned to spend, The Luxxe 230 gave us the wow factor. Any comments on Summit Homes would be appreciated. Thanks
