I also think that building on a slope for $320k in Brisbane is unrealistic unless its a tiny house, my sister is considering knock down rebuild on a slope up from street and it's going to be $400k for 2 storey 4 bedroom.

Thanks so much everyone (esp thlo). The reality is that guarantor with a different lender is in a big too hard basket...we're changing lenders to accomodate this and therefore have the same lender.

On this topic, thlo can you advise if it matters that the guarantor and you have different lenders? And if it does, what normally happens?
