Sure, nothing is perfect and yes you can change your mind and it will cost you more and it could all work out fine in the end. I am not sure that overthinking is the right word but my opinion is coloured by my experiences helping builders when they have allowed owners to make too many changes, allo...

As an observer I have to be brutal, what were you thinking when you were signing building contract? Were you asleep at the wheel? You dont have automatic right to variations under a lump sum contract and the builder does not have to agree, if he does it will and should cost you plenty. A builder sh...

So this is P class side due to trees and low bearing capacity and this is where extra piering comes into play. The trees we have is all in the back of the land and we have cut it all down.

Your builder has to warrant your home for 10 years in Victoria. M slab on P site does not add up for me. It seems your builder also is not comfortable with your design. Yeah the builder didn’t want to go with my design as it was conventional and he wanted to use the waffle design for economical.

Thanks everyone for replying. Luckily I have not signed the contract yet and I only put $500 to get the ball rolling. As I organised the preliminary items like soil testing, engineers, surveys, and etc. . I’ll ask the builder to comment on these items in the contract. The builder also advised that i...
