Any chance you can send me a code/link as well? I wonder if you can combine it with the current sale that ends tomororw?

Thanks. I called VBA today and they said it was a Consumer Affairs issue, the old handball. Seems like the government organisations don't want to do their job at the moment.

If a builder is taking deposits and not getting Domestic Building Insurance how can they be prosecuted? This is in Victoria, and there are potentially multiple parties impacted. I am not an impacted party, but rather I've been made aware of this issue and I'm wondering what avenues can be used. From...

We have verified that insurance with VMIA is current and present on our build. We can not speak to the financial state of the builder, and speculation doesn't help us or the builder.

Hey All, We're building in Melbourne, Victoria. We are 552 days into our build and the build has come to an almost standstill. Since lockup was paid in April, we've seen electrical rough in, and some plumbing remediation works. So in 145 days, I'd estimate we've had trades on site for a total of 15 ...

For reference, this is the Austlii reference. My take on this is, that they would be breaking the law denying access to a homeowner in Victoria, or their agent from having reasonable access. Is that correct? If they are breaking the law it would become a police matter, is that also correct? http://c...

Forward progress! Ground floor windows have been installed! The team should be back Monday 14th November to finish off the frame and then hopefully from there we start to get things moving again. Hi there, thanks for your post. We're thinking of going with Chatham. Do you know why it's been a stop start process? Lack of materials? Hard to say I've got a Instagram going that is following the build. I'll pm you the link. It will show you the journey of our build

What does the site actually look like? How deep is the contamination and how big is the site? You could estimate the volume of soil pretty easily and call around to get an understanding of what it would take to get this excavated and dumped. The builder will want to dump the soil at a clean fill sit...

We have had our site manager changed 2 weeks ago, and hopefully this will speed things up. The roof had the wrong insulation installed originally, and this was rectified under the new site manager last week, which is the first major work we have seen on site since 28th June. (97 days)(exactly 25% of...

Latest update to the journey, I went past the site today expecting to see not much happening only to find the lockup crew inside shaving the walls. Good to see some progress happening on site after quite a few weeks of not much action. It seems like this is what is happening across all the builds in...

Hey All, I thought I'd share our story, although we're only partially through the build, I thought this might be useful for anyone looking to understand the process that you go through building with a semi volume builder. We originally selected Chatham homes on the back of seeing them building in ou...
