I think you have underestimated but as you say it depends a lot on the current condition. Replacing the taps etc in the bathroom is OK if the bathrooms are in tiptop…

What is immediately above that area? A wet area like a bathroom, kitchen or laundry? If not moisture coming from above then it may be moisture coming from below. I can't…
