Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 04, 2016 7:49 am I'm finally in a position to look into this and thought a dedicated topic might be the way to go for future. Where do people get samples of their potential selections from? We're not to the point of actually making selections with a builder yet but I want to be prepared and I'd like to have samples to mix and match myself rather than trying to do it on the rushed day in an office etc I'm interested in those decent A4? sized colorbond roof samples I've occassionally seen in posts here, as well as bricks, benchtops, curtains, paint (though I imagine sample pots and painting myself might be the option here) etc One we found yesterday to start this off, if you're in Newcastle, Highgrove Bathrooms at Gateshead has small approx. 2" square samples of QuantumQuartz for free. I hope I can get some response Re: Where to get Samples of various products 2Dec 04, 2016 12:01 pm I found the brickyard at beresfield amazing ! I was able to take home a few different brick samples. After I did my selections with my builder I was given a ceasarstone sample and glass splash back sample. I think it will all depend on the builder you choose and who their supplier is. I am building with Mac jones. They give you an hour or two appointment in their colour studio before the big day. You can take kitchen / laundry/ bathroom cupboard sample cards homes to look at as well as colourbond. You get a great big folder of window frame samples, paint charts etc. I did a lot of research and visited nearly every Mac jones display in Newcastle and the hunter 3 or 4 times. On the day I pretty much had my choices down pat. Also look online as I know polytech will send you free samples for cabinetry cupboards. Re: Where to get Samples of various products 4Dec 04, 2016 2:25 pm cuebiyar That's great info, thanks Which brickyard did you visit for samples (both PGH and Austral are now at Beresfield)? Re: Where to get Samples of various products 5Dec 05, 2016 4:59 am Both Austral and pgh at Beresfield will give samples and also adressea of houses in the bricks you are interested in. Australia's also have tile samples. Re: Where to get Samples of various products 7Dec 05, 2016 4:27 pm Am not sure on colourbond as we didn't get it. Re: Where to get Samples of various products 8Dec 05, 2016 7:55 pm Most manufacturers will send samples at little to no cost. Just head to their website and check it all out. For our build I got free samples from Caesarstone, Laminex (& Formica), Colorbond and Polytec. Also if your builder uses a retail outlet for the tile selections (ours use Beaumont Tiles) head down to a local store and ask to see their standard range before your actual appointment, most showrooms have full size samples available for clients to take home. Depends how much direct sun it gets. Is there any shading (eaves or trees)? If the sun hits a window directly it doesn't matter too much if it's double or single… 1 12671 9 24816 Congratulations! Nice to put that to bed before christmas, now you can relax 3 7187 |
