Is it only those doors that are over $5000 or is it all of them? Did you get them upstairs too? We got similar ones. But all ours is downstairs and only a couple upstairs including our room. But ours was over $5000 not including all the house. And the chocolate colour stain too. Only those entry doors. The Amercian oak doors are a standard inclusion with the Bordeaux. I think the cost price for the doors are roughly 5K plus around 2K for the Pittella antique bronze handles and locks. Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 388Feb 20, 2017 1:19 pm vuster Hi Scott, Entry niches are standard for the Bordeaux however the joinery for it was roughly $2,000. Expensive I know... I'll pass on your message to the builder regarding the doors! haha Thanks but 2K...... ouch.............. I do get the Niches , but was told I can Not afford the joinery for it @ my joinery appointment , seems it is true Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 389Feb 20, 2017 2:57 pm Scott2233 vuster Hi Scott, Entry niches are standard for the Bordeaux however the joinery for it was roughly $2,000. It is sadder because he was telling the truth Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 391Feb 20, 2017 4:31 pm Hello Vuster First Time Poster, but have been following your posts and love what you have done with your build. Can you tell me the name of the front entry doors?( that they have stuffed up the stain on) Are they a Hume Brand door? I am in the first stages of doing a KDR on the Doulton. and have taken queues from its display home and also the Bordeaux as to how the new place will look. Will start my own thread once more info comes to hand. Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 393Feb 20, 2017 5:09 pm Thank you Renman I have gone to the hume door website but cannot find. Are they discontinued or are they a special order? Thanks Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 394Feb 20, 2017 5:24 pm It shouldn't be out of stock as we only just order ours. This is as close as to our ones. http://www.humedoors.com.au/products/en ... _range/xr4 Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 395Feb 20, 2017 6:18 pm stanus Hello Vuster First Time Poster, but have been following your posts and love what you have done with your build. I will message you later tonight. Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 396Feb 20, 2017 8:50 pm I spoke to the supervisor today about the stain and was advised that the painter sent him a picture of the correct stain that he used. He said he was going to pop over the house to have a look and hoped that after the 3 coats of varnish satin it'll appear like the display home one. I inspected the doors again and they look lighter than yesterday but still darker than the display's. Maybe it's just the lighting. I'm guessing that the colour would be closer to this when exposed to the outside light. The Somerset display has the "Hume Georgian", which is like the photo above. If that's what you're after then you're OK. The Bordeaux one is made from amercian oak and the top part is curved and makes an arch when the doors are combined, whereas the Georgian one is just rectangular.
