We were lucky enough that ours was not far off the date the developer gave us (Nov, and registered in Dec). Good luck with your build! How much more do they do before they actually lay the road? Not sure if it usually takes that long but it has been very hot so there may have been weather issues. Still can't access the release yet until the parkway bridge is built so I've been taking photos from a bit of a distance. Love your colour and tile choices, can I ask how much you were quoted for the shower niche? Hopefully you get access to your lot soon! Do you mean how much we actually paid for the shower niche? Roughly I think it was $283 for the niche but heaps of people told us it's the same price no matter the size! I wish we know that when we added it to our design! Where abouts are you building No thread for now, I'll be sitting on the land to save more money and hopefully start the build the end of the year, so I'll probably start a thread when things pick up! That's great I'd budgeted around $300 but will have to wait and see later in the year what prices are like, had gone with the laminate and designer upgrades but depends on which deals are still going then! It was between a Plantation design and the Avoca, but the master bedroom at the back and the beautiful ensuite/ wardrobe layout sold me. It's such a simple but logical design. When I saw yours and someone else's completed build threads building the bigger versions it confirmed I was happy with my choice. I'm on a smaller block and it's just me and my two dogs so the 20 is definitely big enough for my needs! I've already planned to organise my own concreter for the driveway, and my family is all green thumbs so landscaping is taken care of, but am nervous to see how much extra the electricals will cost me! On national tiles it shows at 35.95 per m2 fingers crossed it isnt going to cost a bomb!!! out of curiosity were yours a reasonable upgrade in terms of cost? Anyway, I'd love to know if your marble hex tile was an upgrade and if so what price point you were quoted for that? I would like to use a hex tile for the feature wall in the shower but at $31 per sheet plus labour - I need to do some research. I look forward to following your build and wish you all the best for a smooth building process! We are still waiting for our land to register (8 months) and have lost a fair bit of excitement & motivation! I'm excited to see it all come together. I'll attach a section from our tile appt with the marble hexagon tile we went through national tiles for ours. Are you building with coral homes? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hopefully they don't charge you for variations, or if they do its only a small amount so you can get what you want Re: Coral Homes | Avoca 26 | Ormeau Ridge, QLD | First time 74Apr 21, 2016 2:39 pm Hi Hayley Looking at your block photos think I might be building in a street not far from you. Currently waiting for land registration which has been moved a few times but will hopefully now happen in June. Enjoy following the colours and electrical plans, have my meeting happening in May so trying to make all of those decisions. Good luck! Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13723 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1691 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74220 |
