Despite calling this out months ago, the kitchen and pantry wall cabinets are overhanging over the window splash back! Not what we wanted. SS has said he will need to reorder slightly shorter cabinets. Too hard to move the bulkhead! 2. All the fittings for the vanity basin tap wear seem off centre and slightly incorrectly positions! Not sure what M will do about this one. 3. We added a hanging rail to one of the wall cabinets on the laundry (you can just see it in the photo). It's way too high and with the shelf at the bottom of the unit doesn't seem very usable...not sure what if anything they do about this one either. Let's see... Very happy to see it coming together though! Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 391Feb 09, 2017 9:46 pm Looking good! I have the opposite concern with my overhead cupboards, seems like they have mounted them too high... Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 392Feb 09, 2017 11:56 pm The wet areas look great! There was some discussion in main Metricon thread about kitchen overhead cupboards hanging over the splashback window. It was pointed out by Orph and when everyone else checked their plans, they realised they had the same issue. What colour is the cabinetry to the laundry? Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 393Feb 10, 2017 5:28 am Looking good I forgot to check if my cupboards over hang the window. I will recheck. It is neck a neck at the moment. Very happy to see it coming together though! So our SM has come back and said that rather than reducing the wall units in kitchen and pantry, it would be quicker and easier to drop the whole window by the required 40mm and have the work top come up right against the window. There would need to be packing added to the top, inside and out, as well as redoing brick work on the outside. Effectively removing the lip from worktop to window (which is meant to be finished in the same stone as the worktop) So less than ideal, but keen on people thoughts? We have a site meeting Monday to discuss in detail and confirm which way to go. Re-order (and a longer wait) for new wall units, or drop the window..... Comparing the height of the window with mine, it does look like your window sits a tad higher off the bench top compared to mine. Option 2 would make it how mine sits ATM. Option 1: reduce size of overhead units and (pray) the delay isn't too long. As well as hope to hell that M confirm that the lip and return into the window is done in the same stone (to date they've been saying that's not easy and we need to check the plans!) Or option 2: loose the lip and have worktop straight into window frame. As long as there's no reduction in height of he bench top.
